Back in the day - as the youngsters say - these were off the hook!

I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Spent the morning in a meeting, but I can't let this fly, even if the rest have...

VOJ - Drake summed up the feelings here pretty well, but I will follow up with a little story for you. Two months ago, I was one of three newspapers in southern Minnesota to cover a local coach's resignation. Having heard the rumor, I spent nearly a week making calls before it was official — including calling on turkey day — to get my facts straight. I was the only one to include the information that this coach resigned after being ticketed for a DWI, despite all three having this information and it being common public knowledge. Why? "Personal reasons" are well and good, but you're doing the public a disservice if that's all you say on the matter.

Four days later, I sat with said school's AD at a basketball game...and had one of the other two editors praise me for having the "stones" to print what I did. For what it's worth, this editor was harsher than I've been to you on his own writer and the other publication.

The moral of the story is...just because you're old doesn't make you right. There's also a reason such stories are called hard news. Besides, if they're really your friend, they'll understand it's your duty to do your job.

If I'm ever in the position to cover anything questionable going on at GAC, you better believe I'd do so. Heck, I was the one who announced to the football board that the Gustie coaches had misinterpreted the spring practice rules a few years back and been punished by the league.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

And, as PI mentioned, my personal legend is already posted for all to see whenever Mongo, Frank or TDT make a post :)

I have these!!

Return of Foye tonight maybe!? Said on KFAN his return will probably be either tonight or tomorrow night.
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

VOJ

Fellas all I know is what I have said here on the board and what has been said in the papers, I have no idea what Insider02 is talking about...I do know that things should be decided today and the folks I talked to were pretty confident Ryan would be back on the court tomorrow night against Carleton.  The people I have talked to said they no of nothing else going on except the intership credit issue.

Willy I was told it was a personal issue and that is what it is...its a personal issue with Ryan and the school over internship credits, good for you to bloody someone elses nose when it comes to their firing...I am sure that common knowledge or not that coach appreciated the truth coming out.

Maybe more will come out about it, maybe it wont but I will not be the one going into the whole deal just like VOJ.  I have some good connects up there and personally have no desire to lose them.  As for both ryan and the basketball program I hope everything works out in the positive but....if it does not work out I would say all blame could be put on one person   :)

I think a clarification needs to be made between posting dirt on a site like D3 hoops and doing your job. If it is your job to report the news (a reporter) then you should probably do so to the fullest extent of your knowledge. If it is your prerogative to post on a DIII basketball website (a poster), nobody is twisting your arm to come out with the information. Also I thought it was very immature to question if people have lives because they are inquiring why someone isn't suiting up...

I hope the truth does come out I also hope the SJU admin doesnt just sweep it under the rug. The kid thinks he can get away with anything. He ignored the issue and its his fault it has come to a head.

Amazing how you all can get wrapped up in a kids struggles, guess you don't have enough going on in your own lives, by the way when are we going to parade your life out here on the boards Willy?

VOJ, you should probably take a step back and think about the situation before you call out everyone on this board, a lot of whom you do not know outside of it. No one chastised you for withholding information from the board and its readers. Speculation of possible reasons why Leisure is really out does not require you to get up in arms and get so defensive. You know the whole story, good for you. This insider guy knows the whole story, good for him. Nobody is spilling the beans so let posters speculate and it will remain that. Nobody is trying to give SJU or Leisure a 'black eye.' We are just curious as to why a 'simple credit problem' is taking so long to fix.
