Foye's playing!!!

Santana gone   :'(

Also, new track and soccer complex will be going up on SMU's campus this spring ready for the fall...turf infield...should be nice

So when is the Gaborik getting traded then?  We merely develop superstars, we don't selfishly keep them on our team.

If SMU is putting in a turf infield at a track/soccer complex, why in the world not add football?  Football couldn't hurt the basketball recruiting.

and....I've always disliked Ryan Lieser, but only due to an 8th grade fall basketball league grudge. >:(  Leisure and former johnnie punter Zach Reif were not well received for whatever reason.  that said, Lieser can't have done something as stupid as the star running back for sju did....I wish him a speedy return.  If it's as simple a thing as was already posted, why in the world was he not allowed to play?  If he did the internship, he should be able to appeal whatever suspension was put on him and allowed to play until it is proven he was in violation.

Football would do amazing things for the school, but unfortunately it won't be coming yet. I believe their plan is to make it so if they were to add a football team, it would be big enough for that as well....but that won't happen for awhile.

Ok im not trying to slam the kid but he isnt well liked the truth hurts...and the reason the credit issue has come up is they are trying to make up for a mistake he made..their trying to get his internshp moved from 2 credit to 4 credits yet he only registered for the 2 credit internship...he made a rather large mistake and it has cost him and they are trying to cover his butt by getting more credits for the internship ater the fact...sorry if this upsets others that i said this much or that  im not going in to anymore detail because i wanna see if it all actually comes out or if SJU sweeps it under the rug...the NCAA just doesnt show up to a NCAA D3 MIAC school to say a kid has to sit for something small....lets see if Coach Smith and the crew have any trup cards they are able to play...the people i feel the worst for are Johnson and Brink they have been there all 4 years and then no Fogt, and now no Ryan...thats a hard way to have a senior year

If he played and he was proven in violation, SJU would have to forfeit those games he played in.

VOJ - Bloodied their nose? Last time I checked, you can't force a prominent local figure — which any coach is — drink for a few hours and then get behind the wheel. The documents are public knowledge. If you don't like the consequences, don't commit the crime. Simple enough, eh?

PTP - Agreed. However, VOJ's job is covering SJU basketball (athletics?) for a radio station so the distinction isn't made as easily as poster/nonposter. Assuming the same arrangement as the Gusties have with their local radio station, VOJ isn't on the SJU payroll.

If what TheInsider says is true, where's the problem? Was he only signed up for X amount of classes this semester and finally realized he need X+2?

Skibbity - The new complex will be equipped to handle football, or no? That would seem the best way to forecast a football revival in SMU's future, despite it recently getting voted down.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

10-4 good buddy. I was unaware VOJ held that position. I suppose that is a gray area and I can see why he VOJ might not want to break the news if it means repercussions for SJU. Still doesn't sound like a huge deal from what TheInsider is saying, although its obviously a problem since he is missing games.

Yes. It will be equipped to handle football, if football is something they decide to do down the road sometime.  Those familiar with the campus, the complex will be on the right, right as you turn on to campus.

Here's what I still don't get about why this is a big deal----

Lieser is a senior without any prior history of failing classes and subsequently becoming ineligible.  Perhaps he isn't in his final academic semester at St. John's, but if he is the amount of credits he's taking could be as little as one class as long as that class is necessary for him to graduate.

Full disclosure, even though I'm not a sports reporter or knowledgeable about anything..---Northwestern had a 5th year senior play football a couple of seasons ago even though he only took ballroom dancing or something of the sort....wasn't technically an allowed class as it wasn't required for him to graduate, but Northwestern managed to appeal to the NCAA successfully.

Is everyone still talking about this guy at SJU? Jeez, hasn't it been abut four or five pages worth? Aren't there any games to be discussing for tomorrow? I need more information on what's up on the hardwood.

I know I for one will be at the GAC/BU game, waiting to see how the Gusties will rebound from AUG. Seems like games with the Royals are always close, even though GAC usually comes out on top...

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

He is NOW in his last semester at school.  But an athlete needs 24 credits per every two semesters so LAST SPRING and THIS FALL have to equal 24 and because they may have not added up to that this is the semester he would sit for it!!

im dissappointed in the t-puppies tonight...prolly one of the only chances i can say that this year

a banged up struggling bulls team is handing it to them on the return night of foye...and they have been playing decent lately

I have seen them all but i would have to give my vote to the nike swoosh...however I would say that all three are pretty stupid to have on your body permanently.

AMEN, BS....its yesterday's news and all the talking about it does nothing about it nor does it get any of us closer to knowing what happened.

Some interesting games tomorrow...Mac is in an absolute MUST win situation. GAC/BU is a classic grudge match...UST seems to always struggle at hutton arena...cord needs a road win to prove they are more than a home-court wonder...and SJU/CAR is the battle of no bench
