FINAL WORD ON LIESER...FROM LIESER...THE MAN HIMSELF

his academic advisor told him to drop his 8 credit fall internship to a 4 credit internship because he would remain eligible and save money since he was paying by the credit....this is something i think we would all do

turned out his advisor was wrong...

lucky for Lieser he did the work load required to recieve 8 credits still...his advisor made the mistake trying to help him save some money and now the advisor has helped him submit the paper work to the admin office and it is just a slow and painful process and he should be back soon

he did nothing wrong...he took advice from someone he is suppose to be able to trust and someone who is suppose to know all the rules and they made a mistake...

Obviously, I have no personal insider knowledge, but as a retired faculty member, this explanation sounds very plausible.  Now, could we get off this kid's back?  Those who know are prohibited by federal privacy law from commenting, and those who don't, well ...

As to your earlier attempt to change the subject to tattoos - a Webster College player special ordered Nike shoes to read 'Gorlocks'.  Unfortunately, the team name is 'Gorloks' - good thing it was shoes, not tattoos! ;)

4 credits to 8 credits..not to mention if he took an 8 credit internship he would have to be there at least 40 hrs a week(i believe) plus two classes and basketball..it would make more sense if the problem was a 2 credit to a 4 credit problem cause then he would drop below full time and then would not be able to play...but i could say the truth and explain why he needs the 8 credits and not the 4 but most people with that are smart enough could figure out why he needs to have a whole class worth of credit hours extra to be able to play....funny how he can lie to your face like that because at St. Johns there is no differece btwn the cost of 12 credits and 16 i believe so how would he save money?..its a good thing you believe him...lets just say if he plays the SJU coaches did a great job of keeping it quite so i will respect that

Now that we are half through the season rotation I thought it might be interesting to talk about the pre-season polls again.

How close were the early guesses about rankings and why such variation with where we are now? Will we approach the original rankings as the season continues?

This topic might get us back on the topic of basketball in general again. I was starting to think we should change the site name to www.CJHoops.com.  ;D

Wouldn't it also be possible that what you've heard is incorrect?

Is everyone still talking about this guy at SJU? Jeez, hasn't it been abut four or five pages worth? Aren't there any games to be discussing for tomorrow? I need more information on what's up on the hardwood.

One of the reasons this board is incredibly hard to follow.  Is that topics like the Lieser issue do not have their own thread.  Here you have threads that are 700 posts long, with conversations dominated by just a few people and a few schools.  Try starting new threads for different topics.  I promise it will make the board more fun for everybody.

??? ???  No offense, but that was difficult to follow.  For the sake of St. John's scholastic reputation, I hope you aren't an English major.

In response to the dumbest tattoo, the and1 has to be the worst, because at least with the other two, it'd be easier to cover them up with a new tattoo.

Maybe someone else can comment on this, but there really seems to be no superteam this year, or team that should dominate every night. Usually, there are one or two of these teams, but honestly, on any given night, teams ranked one through ten could win this season. Could make for not only an interesting playoff push, but also an upset ready playoffs.

Oh, and back to the All-MIAC first team- does it seem to anyone else that UST probably shouldn't have anyone in the top five, yet is in great shape to take the conference. That's actually a sign of a solid coaching job, as well as great role-playing.

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse but whether Lieser plays or not has a huge impact on their performance. Frank's Blog has an update from yesterday afternoon about the whole situation. Hopefully it will be resolved today.

Would the Cornhusker 'N' make the top 5 for worst tattoo decisions ever? :)

The corhusker "N" is clearly a top five worst tattoo in my book.  I also recently saw a guy at an open gym in his mid thirties with a huge minnesota twins tattoo on his arm.  I understand you may like the twins but to put a huge tattoo on your arm....doesnt do a whole lot for me.

Columbia...not to burst your bubble but that is not the truth on the leiser thing!!

i have no idea who you are but you seem to have an agenda since you created an account just to talk about this issue...if i ask a friend and former player of mine a question and he gives me an answer i will believe him 100 times out of 100 over someone who came to a message board and is not revealing who he or she is...you dont seem to have a problem bashing him so why dont you tell us who you are??

it may turn out that you are right...but until then im done with this topic and i dont believe a word you say
