Thanks for the "new" button tip.  I am just not fully accustomed to this message board.  I troll many boards, and I have never seen a message board where every topic in is one thread.  Members from schools that do not dominate the board will find it much less alienating if people used the new topic option.  The fact that we are talking about my suggestions for the board, somewhat validates my feelings.  If this was in it's own thread, nobody would have to click the link to read it.   Just a few thoughts on a chilly day.

Changing gears to a less "politically" charged topic, ;) I was told this is actually a true story and happened in St. Paul.

After the political rally last night in St. Paul, Democratic Presidential hopeful, John Edwards returned to his hotel suite along with a few members of his campaign staff and advisors.  To unwind, they call room service and ordered a fruit & cheese tray along with three bottles of Sauvignon Blanc French wine.  From what I'm told, this is a good, dry, French white wine and is more or less pronounced "sov- veen- young- blonk."

Much to the consternation of the non-native English speaking hotel room service attendant, he thought he heard on the other end of the phone, a nasally, southern voice conclude the order by requesting – "seven young blondes." Eventually, the room service manager got the poor, room service attendant straightened out.

I can't swear this story is true, but I was howling!  ;D ;D

they call it "THE SHOE" for a reason...no roller skates are allowed...only shoes for men and those ugly eskimo looking boots for girls...i really wanted to just enjoy the game so i threw on a set of clothes over the spandex to avoid long autograph lines and the usual groping that i usually get from the UST ladies as i walk by the student section  ;) ;D

Concorida @ St. Olaf - The Cobbers have dropped their road game at St. Olaf the past three years...the trend continues...Oles by 6.

GAC @ Bethel - Should be a great game...Madson hits a game-winner at the buzzer (falling away) over his high school buddy Whittwer for the win...Bethel by 2

"Carleton will dedicate its West Gym playing floor and new scoreboard on Saturday in honor of former Carleton men's basketball coach Jack Thurnblad and his wife, Jinny. Thurnblad coached the Knights from 1960-1984."

YES!!!  That thing was terrible....

Good..I hope that means we're done beating the dead horse of his eligibility on here.

Now about his shooting... three of the last five games I saw him in, it can be summed up in two words:
                                   <C-L-A-N-K
                                                             and
                                             <airball>
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Seeing how the Lieser suit fashion show nearly tore up this great little community, :-* we should make a board agreement:  To prevent us from becoming ripped apart in a great posting Civil War, we should all agree that in the weeks and months to come, we will limit our political discussion to fairly non-partisan type of comments.  Agreed?

With that being said, it seems those bottles of "Seven Young Blondes" were being used by the John Edwards campaign party last night to help wash away the disappointment of bringing his presidential campaign to an end this afternoon.  ;D  Guiliani also calls it quits today.

It is more fun to talk about basketball, players, & best tattoos.

Re: Tattoos

No doubt about it, the 07-08 MIAC replacement for the infamous Cornhusker Nebraska tats are being held down by the spiritually connected Tattoo Twins - Nick & Nick. That would be Nick Carroll of Hamline & Nick Otterson of Bethel.  Biggest tats in the league.  ;)

Chica yea false identification

It'll be interesting to see how the Cards match up with Conboy tonight.  With no post presence it'll be tough to defend him in a man to man... I would like to see them maybe front and have great backside help...otherwise go zone, but i don't see that happening

GoBU - While I'm sure some players do read the board, I doubt discussion of a teammates eligibility will affect their performance (or at least you'd hope not)  ;) Also, I happened to be fond of the old scoreboard, but I'm very happy to see the new one dedicated to the Thurnblads. c-mob is absolutely correct, Jack and Jinny are great people.

I think Leisure comes out shooting well, relaxed and grateful to be back. If Leisure doesn't start, it will skew the most important statistic in this game...bench scoring.    ;D
