BS - I haven't seen any clips of the horse face lady, but I did read about it. However, I'll satisfy your youtube needs by dropping this PG-13 gem on you all instead. Enjoy!

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Big Shocker - What do you have against KFAN? And how could you say everybody there makes a living hating everything? Have you ever tuned in between 9-12? Besides, If you want to hear that everything is rosy 24-7-365 all you have to do is tune in 830. Different strokes for different folks me boy.

SUMMIT!!!!!

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

You might want to reconsider the wording there, Mose. I've been accused of being a Trewick sympathizer, but you can't mix criticism for his coaching acumen with a cancer scare. You can keep the guy in your prayers while still believing he's a lousy coach...but not vice-versa.

And how did I get smited for posting the Berman rant? I don't care who you are, that's funny!

The Berman bit made me cry I was laughing so hard.

just a minor correction - the name of the stud player currently playing for redwood valley is mike felt, not dan.  and i doubt he will be a d3 player - he's going higher than the miac.

Was the other guy last year Dan Bonebright? Or am I just making up the Dan part?

St. Thomas cracked back into the top 5.

GAC is no longer receiving votes, but Carleton receives two in their stead!

Is the MIAC a 2-3 tourney team conference this year?

Say Carleton beats GAC in the championship game, and UST wins out the rest of the regular season.  that would make UST 22-3 (18-2), GAC will probably have 18-20 wins at that point, and Carleton would be the conf. tourney champion.

A lot depends upon the regional rankings & new "strength of schedule"-like ratings that are due to come out in about  7-10 days.  From my understanding, D3 has a new rating system similar to the
D-1 RPI. The NCAA selection committee will look at the RPI, along with other criteria & make their decisions.  Based on your scenario, my guess is that at best, the MIAC will have 2 teams in the tourney.

Pat C. or our favorite HOFer - Greg Sager should be stopping by anyday now to drop a few morsels of wisdom, or manna from the D3 Gods.   ;)

In the meantime - here's a litttle background reading.  keep in mind some of the criteria is changing, or has recently changed, & will be frequently discussed on the front pages of the website over the next month.  February is one of my favorite months during the basketball season.

I just have one little morsel of manna to offer at the moment -- and that's the reminder that, when you're discussing NCAA tournament possibilities, do not refer to a team's overall record. The overall record isn't the least bit relevant. It's regional record that counts in the eyes of the selection committee.

I thought the piece was hilarious as well, but you probably got smited because you called it "PG-13."  And you should have typed some disclaimer - "keep the volume down if you're at work."  :D

PI- I just checked the J's website, it is Dan Bonebright.  Yet another name hecklers could have a field day with.

gacbacker-

True, true, not everyone is all about the negative on KFAN. 9-12 is okay, if you want to hear about the Vikings every day, and not much else. 12-2 is just recycled every day. 2-4 is okay, nothing flashy, but still quite cynical. The guy I can't stand is on from 4-7. I mean, I never heard him give anyone any good vibes from Minnesota. Maybe I'm just not listening at the right time, but that's just what I think.

And yes, yes, I know Minnesota sports have sucked for the last couple years in all aspects, but I guess the negativity just grates on me a while. A little positivity is a good thing, even if it is a little out of the range of possibility.

Here, let me try this: you know, SMU is playing for pride the rest of the year, hoping for a little momentum to get going for next year. You see, not very realistic, but a nice pick-me up, a warm fuzzy, if you will.

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

for all you Trewick haters and bashers out there:

First of all, don't say trewick haters and bashers and then share an article about his cancer.  It really is too bad and I wish him the best of luck on the surgery he'll be having.  Secondly, Trewick is a great guy....GREAT guy, but he just isn't the best coach for Saint Mary's.

Great article and I wish him the best

i personally feel it is a down year in the MIAC this year so i think it would be extremely hard to get 3 teams in...2 maybe but i doubt 3...but stranger things have happened

Mafia...I understand how you could think that the MIAC is down this year...but I take the angle that it is more competitive this year, without a super team or two like we have had in recent years...when Auggy can go to GAC and win, the J's and Royals both win at Carleton...Oles get the better of what was a hot Concordia team it just echoes what every coach has told me this year...if you don't play well you won't win on a given night mediocre efforts and performance get you the L in this league...

I see the SJU-Bethel matchup as being a grind it out affair in looking back at last game, both teams were pretty bad from the field...it will be interesting how the J's defend Moberg without Fogt available like he was for the last game...I wonder if Brink will match up with Madson on D...Brink took Will Wright for most of the game against SMU and defended him pretty well...he was on Zorro against the Knights and although he got his points he worked hard for them...I could see Brady's length giving Madson some issues...

VOJ, Don't you think they will start Stiller on Moberg and let him burn up some fouls?
