Lieser missed 3, Brink missed a putback at the buzzer!

Gusties win by 2 (70-68, I think) after trailing by about 15 in the second half.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Wow, Paulson came up big in the second half for the second straight game. If he's becoming a prime-time player, he might be the go-to post the Gusties require.

What a heartbreaking loss for SJU.

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Well, that's the second straight game where Paulson's started very poorly and finished like a stud. I'm thinking he may need to put together a strong 40 for GAC to win on Saturday...but it's certainly encouraging to see him work through the struggles.

I was listening while I worked, so I didn't catch everything...but it seemed like Wittwer wasn't much of a factor until the second half charge either.

Wednesday's game is the type of contest the Gusties have blown this season, so we'll see how they respond after this big win. If they lose — Hanson forbid! — superstition might well make me rethink Saturday's plans...

Thats a heartbreaker right there.  :(

Paulson's been going nuts lately and the Tommies put up 100 on one of the few MIAC teams to beat them this year. Can anybody serve me up a slice of humble pie??

Final: Bethel 70 - Carleton 66

I had to leave at the half but I understand the Bethel fans were really rocking in the the last half of the game.  I expect there will be a packed hall for the St. Thomas game on Wednesday.

I will be interested to see how physical the refs let the game get on Wednesday.

It'll be an interesting week for UST. I mean, that whuppin' on MAC is scary, but BU is playing very well over the last few weeks, and it all leads up to the showdown with GAC on Saturday.

It doesn't look like anyone can predict what will happen with the #3-6 teams in the conference, which will make for a great last few weeks.

Unfortunately, that's what happens when you have depth.   ??? Joe Scott was the only UST starter who played 20 minutes.

From the Multi Region Board, Pool C thread, pabegg attempts to mirror the NCAA regional rankings. Looks to me like barring a complete collapse the Tommies are in the dance and the Gusties or someone else needs to get the automatic bid to be in.

One week out from the real rankings. Again, I've ranked three more teams per region than will be in the actual rankings, just to indicate the teams that are close.

Not many big changes this week, except for Puget Sound dropping like a rock. WashU doesn't take much of a hit due to the quality of their losses. At this point, five conferences with multiple Pool C bids - the usual suspects except for the SCAC which places Centre, Millsaps, and DePauw in the mix.
