Perhaps the gac fans should drive a few miles down the road to New Ulm and watch a fan section with some innovative, somewhat classy and smart chants.  Martin Luther came in force to St. Paul for the championship game against my Northwestern guys and were easily louder than the 1000 NWC fans in attendance.

If Archer hadn't had any previous idiotic episodes, you could almost forgive him for getting out of hand if the opposing team's fans were chanting "f you" on his home-court.

Wow...I had come to terms with the fact that Gustavus probably wasn't going to get in to the big dance after last night's loss, but after the Gustie women somehow sneaked in on the women's side, I think anything can happen, especially given GAC's win over Buena Vista.

big_shocker

Congrats to the GAC women on making the tournament. I wouldn't have guessed it from the beginning of the season, but they really came on toward the end. Hope they really turn some heads in the tournament.

Reporter: Charles, is there anything about the incident you regret?

Sir Charles: Yeah, that we weren't on a higher floor.

Why can't the wolves just win a close one.  The Wolves announcers should be fired, they are aweful.

anybody know when we will find out on the NCAA births.

If I was a Martin Luther College student, I'd organize the student section to sing "Ein' feste Burg ist unser Gott" over and over again.

It's hard to sift through all the crying and complaining on this board about last night's officiating from both UST and GAC fans.

I wasn't at the game so I'm in no position to comment on it, but it's up to the players to adjust to how the game is being called by the officials. If the Tommies were flopping and it's getting called, Gustie players should do a better job of not putting themselves in a spot to commit an offensive foul. Wittwer fouling out must be a tough pill to swallow, I'll always respect the heart that kid played with.

Officials should never determine the outcome of any game, let alone a MIAC title game. If the Gusties missed opportunities down the stretch, did the refs really determine the outcome? And please, if you think they have vendettas against any team, you're pathetic.

In any case, you need to have the best officials in the league for the MIAC title game. I'm amazed that apparently Panning didn't get the duty.

Sounds like Mr. Archer was quite the character in this one. I wish you all knew the Teddy Archer I know. I've known him since he was 12 years old, and he does have a bit of a cocky side to him, but he's one of the nicest kids I've ever met.

Congrats to the Tommies on the big win, especially in a year where nobody gave them much of a chance.

First of all, I would love to say congrats to UST on their great season, and I am excited that we will be even better in the years to come.  The domination is only beginning, so the next few years will be quite enjoyable.

Next, I can't believe that all of the GAC fans think there is some type of conspiracy against their team, and that the refs have it out for them.  That is absolutely ridiculous, you are just looking for excuses.  You should know that St. Thomas has been called for more fouls than their opponents in conference play 505 to 473.  The fact is you guys were out played by a better team. Stop making excuses.

Also, too many people are complaining about Teddy Archer, and are making terrible points I might add.

I have the privilege of knowing Teddy very well and he is the classiest person I know.  He is as good of a defender as the MIAC has and consistently gets the star players of the opposing team in foul trouble.  Maybe your players need to get stronger mentally if they can't handle a little bit of physical play.  He is a spark that every team in the MIAC would love to have.

I might also add that Teddy scored 10 points including, two free throws to tie the game with under a second left in regulation of the Tommie's HUGE win at Winona State (Something that none of your teams will ever get close to accomplishing) <------That's the skill you morons claim he is lacking.

Quit complaining just because YOUR teams can't dethrone the mighty Tommie's.

Bring it on guys!

Eric, sweet facebook picture dude...

Few thoughts since I'm awake and no one has responded yet:

1) If Teddy is the classiest person you know, that isn't really saying much. I am not saying he completely lacks class but based on his on court antics it wouldn't seem he would be the classiest person you know... then again, you do go to St. Thomas.  ;)
2) If you followed the board you should have picked up on the e-mail thing when Cassens "relative" started posting and didn't want his identity known (Assuming you wanted yours to remain anonymous).
3) Since you're a member of the Class of 2011, I understand how you are excited that St. Thomas pulled out the conference championship in a "down year." However, to call out the experienced posters for making terrible points is pretty brash...then again you are a freshman.
4) You are obviously extremely biased, so why don't you stick to commenting insulting on youtube threads instead of a civil board like d3hoops.

I can't wait to see what LW has to say about this...

USTDynasty

Dear Prime Time Player

1. First off why are you such a creep?  You have way to much time on your hands if you are going as far as looking up peoples facebooks.  That is absolutely creepy, and I have no reason to want to be anonymous I stand by what I said.  Honestly that is the weirdest creepiest thing ever, do you have that lame of a life that you spend your time looking up people you disagree with?

2. Teddy's job is to shut down the other teams stars no matter what it takes.  You would love to have him on whatever sub-par team that you like to cheer for.  Don't question his class when you are the creepy one looking up people on the internet and bashing on threads.

3. I don't care if you look me up or know who I am, I have nothing to hide.  I shouldn't need to hide anything because I wouldn't expect any of the respectable members that post on this site to look up my information.

4. Don't question my knowledge because of my age, just because I don't stalk other posters doesn't mean that I don't know my stuff.  I have read this board for a long time now, and have been an avid MIAC fan for years.  Insult me about my opinions all you want, but lets keep your lame personal attacks out of this.  Don't act like their isn't a ton of bias in this post, it is not something new it is happening all over.  Plus you are the bias one making comments about me being from St. Thomas, and the year I graduate.

5. Of course I am excited about St. Thomas winning the title in what YOU would call an "Off Year".  Well it is funny that a UST off year is far better than what the other teams in the MIAC did.  Also we return every player that plays this year, so you can look forward to another "Off Year" next season I guess.  You can't deny that St. Thomas is the elite program in the MIAC, I invite you to debate this with me.

How about you stop insulting me personally, and have a mature discussion.  How about you save your lame insults for your friends on myspace.  When you would like to discuss MIAC basketball again let me know.

Wow, your pool of friends must be incredibly shallow.

I probably watched at least 35 MIAC games this year and Teddy Archer managed to account for the three least classiest actions on the court I saw all year.

The kid's a punk. Period.

And lets see if you can use the word "creep" at least once in every sentence next post.

USTDynasty

Wow, guys lets turn this discussion board into a user bashing board a little more huh?

I am not going to deny the fact that Teddy's emotions get the better of him sometimes on the court, but that does that mean he is classless, he is just a fierce competitor.  Lets look at your boy Wittwer for a minute.  Everyone seems to have a problem with Teddy being a physical player, but Wittwer had 88 fouls in conference play alone, including fouling out 6 times.  Wait it's probably because the refs hate GAC for some unknown reason though.

Next I used the word creep 4 times in the whole post, and that would be because PTPer was searching around the internet to get something on me.  Lets not get into my word selection when you are saying things like "least classiest".

If you would like to actually discuss something like the game or MIAC teams or anything with any relevance instead of insulting people for their opinions that would be nice.  I will even discuss how unfair you probably thought the officiating was in the championship game, because that is all anyone seems to want to talk about.

MiacLostProphet

Eric, my man.  You showed up to this board with a vendetta.  You insulted everyones opinion on this board, even listing the ones you have a problem with.  Usually people like to know other people on the board.  I don't know many of them but from being a reader and for this year a contributor to the board i think some of these guys work with a local paper or are sports journalists, and some are previous miac players.  Of course they are going to try to find out who is on the board because maybe they played with them, or against them.

correction with gustavus- not all the refs, just the one.  I found it to be playful banter, but maybe you took it a little too seriously.

Also people have already been on here and talked about Teddies class.  We only know him as the kid on the court, not the one off of it.  So we can only comment on the kid on the court and as you put it his emotions get the best of him.   Biased is used when a person doesn't even give credit to the teams his team faces.  No credit to Gustavus for playing a good game and entertaining you.  hence- Biased.

PTPer- who is LW?
