Interesting note from Frank's blog , SJU will play a non conference game at Steven's Point next year.

The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Any word on the finalists for the St Mary's (MN) position?

Willy Wonka

Haven't heard anything new on the SMU front. However, I ran across this doozy of a MIAC lawsuit in my paper.

An Olaf alpine ski racer crashed at Welch Village three years ago, suffering two broken legs and an alleged skull fracture. He just filed lawsuits against Welch *and* STO for more than 50k saying the ski lift chair pole was improperly padded (it meets local and national specifications) and the Olaf coaching staff designed their practices poorly in having runs so close to said pole.

Ummm...good luck, buddy. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't need a judge to tell me I screwed up, lost control and am an idiot if this happened to me.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

A tid bit for the board.  Larson announced to the team that he will be leaving Hamline to go to CON's country.

BETHEL34

Nate Robertson to Bethel...he made the commitment.  Will be a nice addition for the Royals. ;D

From John Millea at the Trib:
QuoteCrosby-Ironton's Bryce Tesdahl, who helped the Rangers to a second-place finish in Class 2A, has signed with Division II Bemidji State. Breck point guard Alex McDonald will play at Division III Beloit College in Wisconsin. Garrett Bassett, the 6-foot-10 center from Eagan, will go to St. John's in Collegeville.

Also, there is a story on Theo Rothstein of STMA on playing for the Huskies next season for those interested.

Schilling from Ellsworth is also headed to Augustana.

New coach at SMU is Todd Landrum....current employee with the Timberwolves.

Pat Coleman

Todd Landrum took over for Bo Ryan when Ryan left for UW-Milwaukee. Not surprisingly, he wasn't able to continue Ryan's run of success.

Congrats to Todd Landrum on the SMU head position!  I have worked with Mr. Landrum in the past and he's very professional.  I'm very curious to hear what other posters think of this hiring ???

Background   - Graduate of Ohio Northern Class of 73' - (that would make him 56 I believe).  He has coached at Univ. of Delaware, Univ. of Wisconsin, The Ohio State Univ., Univ. of Charleston, WV, UW-Platteville, and most recently, Augsburg.  For the past 5 years he has worked with the Timberwolves and their Jr. Wolves program.

The other unconfirmed rumor that I heard today regarding this hiring is that Todd's son, Kevin, will leave his coaching position at UW-River Falls and go to SMU with his father.  Chocolate Hoops what have you heard ???

don't know if that was an attempt at humor but very weak.  If you go back and read the places he has been you would maybe then realize there are more than 2 options, just chose the 2 most recent.
