i guess if SMU beats CAR or GAC one time they will suddenly have the upper hand in recruiting over the 2 schools in southern mn for the next few years

If SMU is Southern Methodist University (not St. Mary's University), they probably can't beat CAR or GAC because that's where Matt Doherty is and he can't win at SMU either.

Once Davidson beats North Carolina twice in 3 years, I'll say it's a fair comparison.  Until then, don't take it so hard when I expose your weak arguments.    Did you see Curry against Oklahoma? that kid is ridiculous. 

How much does Augsburg beat Crown tonight by.  40? 50?  ps.  Crown won't win another game until they bring back their nba style introductions.  for the Bible Bowl(with Northwestern) they'd shut off the lights, bring out the rotating spotlights and the AC/DC Thunderstruck as they introduce their mascot first followed by the players individually running out of the tunnel.  something to see before you die.

i feel like im the common man dan cole reading a news paper article that you wrote and just pointing out how ridiculous your statement was...just trying to show you that you may need to take some of your own advice about getting some sense

my arguement is not weak in anyway...

my arguement is simply that a team that has a history of being a power program and is in the above average MIAC is not going to suddenly feel the pain of losing local recruits because of ONE LOSS TO A UMAC TEAM!

you can continue to argue this point if you want but im now done with it

ps...i guess UCLA will never play San Diego St for fear of losing the game and losing recruits to them because of it

San Diego St/UCLA or Asheville/UNC does not equal Gustavus/Bethany Lutheran.  Bethany has beaten Gustavus in 2 of the last 3.  Stop making ignorant D-1 comparisons.  Anybody with half a brain understands that Bethany is better.   Gustavus isn't better on paper, and more importantly, they're not better on the court.  if UCLA loses to san diego state, they would still be better than the aztecs on paper the next day or week.  If you really want to argue that Gustavus is a better team, good luck, they already lost by 10.  Now that I've established that point, why is it not going to hurt Gustavus in recruiting when they're not even the best D-3 team in south central MN?   I'm not saying they're going to lose all their recruits, take my question for what it is.

Bethany Lutheran was better on that night. Yes, they won by 10 points. But to argue that they are better is ridiculous. Gustavus has a tradition of being one of the better teams in the league. Bethany Lutheran, has NO history. Bethany might even have a better season than GAC, but that does not mean they are a better program. I just looked at Bethany's website and their own site calls it an upset!!

As far as the recruiting goes, I highly doubt the coaching staff is losing any sleep at all about losing a recruit because they lost an early season game to Bethany Lutheran. GAC could be a .500 team and still out recruit Bethany simply off their tradition and history alone.

Can you shed some light on what is going on over at Crown.  They are on their 3rd coach in 4 years, right?  Please correct me if I am wrong but they had a good season last year didn't they?  If my memory is correct they had a couple of upsets and it looked like the program was going to be turned around. 
Where did last years coach go?  Did they graduate nucleus of the team?

Sorry for posting about the UMAC in the MIAC room but I tried to do some research and I couldn't find anything.

your right mafia, the only way to compare two teams is by head-to-head competition.  in 2008-2009, Bethany is better than Gustavus.  end of discussion.

hoopmaster:  if you want to talk about just UMAC teams, we can discuss it on the UMAC board, but to quickly answer your question, no, crown was not good last year, they beat 1 division 3 team (northland) last year, which was actually an improvement from the previous year where they didn't beat anybody.  Their best games were 5 point losses to bethel the last couple years.  they didn't have any talented players graduate, and they have no talent this year coming back...it'll be a long season for the storm.
