Footballfan413,

Could you provide a run down on UW-W?  Outside of the obvious...

Which LBs?  Any info would be great.  Thanks.

Any really good sports bars/pubs/restaurants to recommend in Janesville?

Raebel and Adi are 2 great ones. I have seen them both play. Different styles but both playmakers.

Hooters.

I've got Hooters in Lafayette.  What about something a little more Wisconsin-y that I can't get 7 days a week in Indiana?   :)

I listened tio the call of the game on UWW radio. They did a great job. I just happened to find the station by turning the dial. It sounded professional. Is that a  college radio station? Are the announcers students? It didn't sound like it. Great job!

Bashbacker.....If you want to get the lowdown on UWW football go to www.warhawkfootball.com and hit newswire and you will be inundated with Warhawk info.....

Congrats to the Warhawks on a solid victory. Your fans are very cordial. Your stadium is very impressive. I can see why some teams may possibly be intimidated stepping into a venue like that. NCC's is similar... on a smaller scale.
One thing though...... I noticed that when the Warhawks went up 21-0, SOME of the UWW players (partucularly your center #59) became cocky and began hitting a little late or when NCC made a decent play, pointed to the scorboard (to remind us that it was 21-0). Do SOME of your players do that regularly? That type of play took away alot of the good opinion I had of your team. It appears pretty ugly when you don't act with class with a big lead or a win!! I used to pull for you guys in the finals. Not anymore!

You just beat me to it, Sak. That is the best place for details.  I would just add that they have a great defense, great offense, great special teams and a, "refuse to lose," mentality!  They are a tight group and they don't care who gets the accolades each week, (and it usually varies,) as long as it's a W.  I expect a great game this weekend.  GO WARHAWKS!

Goo. I know that you don't represent the vast majority of the posters here, which is good because you are an idiot. St John's has the best record in all college football over the past FIFTY-FIVE years.

Is this actually listed somewhere? I know your coach has the most individual coaching win in that span but this is the first I've heard this particular claim.

I would appreciate it if someone could post SJU's record from 1952-2007:

Thanks!

Come on now....I can understand you not liking the late hits, those could cause injury and I'm with you there.  However the pointing at the scoreboard thing caused you to lose faith.  Do you not think your team was causing that at all?  Played with #59 and he's a great guy and great competitor.  I bet he was just asked what the website was to vote for just Beaver and he pointed to the new jumbo screen or some guy made a great play and he pointed to the screen telling him to watch it again.

Gary Douglas is primary announcer...Tom Pattison of Warhawkfootball.com does color....broadcast on the local oldies station, Kool106.5

I'm guessing they were in college about 30 years ago  ;)

Yeah, that's what I thought. They were excellent!!!!

Cardinaldad .....First like to say met a lot of nice people from North Central this weekend which was nice since we drive up from Chicago each week. As to our center pointing up at the screen, I was told by at least three or four of our players that your guys just love to trashtalk even when they are losing which I guess evokes that type of response. Don't know about late hitting....there were a few during the game but it's football and I believe both sides had their share of cheapshots.....Pound the Rock.....

No, nice try. Maybe he is a great guy and a competitor. But he definitely pointed to the scorboard in jest. It was one of the first plays that the Cardinal fans were able to make some noise. It was a change in possesion play. Maybe a stuffed 4th and short? I'm not sure exactly which play it was. That's ok......just hoping that it's not a common occurance. And no, the Cardinals did not cause me to loose faith. Never have, never will.

Sakman - Could be true about the trash talk. I thought I read an earlier post by a UWW person that our players were classy in their defeat. I can't dispute the trash talk since I wasn't out there. From the stands, that action appeared pretty classless. That's my point.

It's all fun and games.  Both teams were probably talking trash because that is what happens.  I would of done the same thing actually I have done the same thing when someone who was losing decided be a smart a$$ and try to keep talking.  I thought it was classier to point and let him know that your losing so please stop talking, instead of telling the guy to his face that your losing so please stop talking.

If football was meant to be classy then players would wear suits and ties but it isn't.  As long as people aren't trying to hurt each purposly, the trash talking and pointing is funny and actually kind of motivating.  It sure seemed that something got you guys going don't you??
