Pat-
I can't speak for everyone on the issue, but I think the real issue on the noisemakers is the rule itself.  The rules should be enforced, but rules are not and should not be set in stone.  This rule is one that the NCAA should look into and possibly change or adjust.  Home field advantage is part of the game.

Not in the NCAA playoffs. This is the NCAA's event. You still get to play in your stadium and all, but you have to follow the NCAA's rules. And if you don't like them, I guess there's the NAIA.
That's harsh man.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

It's not Whitewater's fault that the ncaa didn't plan to nip the whole cannon guy thing in the butt right away.
Fialure to plan on there part should not consitute an emergency or in this case taking away the cannon guy on Whitewaters part.
Also coach Berezowitz was on the NCAA comittee and was always a stickler for the rules, so if there is a rule against the cannon guy. I am sure good old coach Brez would have known it. Whether he says anything about well thats another story but I think he would have.

There is no if about it.

Failure to follow the rules in the past should not constitute a free pass in perpetuity.

What about the NCAA failure to enforce the rules. If you don't enforce the rules then there are no rules to be broken.

Fairly certain I've covered that already. Not sure it needs to be repeated. I've already posted more than most people want to see on the subject.

All this cannon talk is making me tired.  It's a rule.

I sure wish there was a good game this weekend to talk about.

I was on the playoff discussion board and they are still yapping about trash talking and hurt little feelings. Thought I logged on the the 700 Club web site for two pages. Had to get back here for football and your still on the  cannon guy thing. Put the cannon guy on the back hill and do live firing into the old score board before the game to fire up the troops for all I care but please back to football ladies and gentlemen.  We do have one that counts this Saturday remember ::) ::)
Not often discussed lately. Special Teams. Who can punt, catch, hold on and kick feild goals maybe the wild card in the results. Thoughts  ???.

Congrats to Jim Leszczynski, a former standout Hawk WR for signing with the Milwaukee Bonecrushers.  The Bonecrushers are a new professional arena football team that will be playing it's first season in 2008 in the CIFL.  The Bonecrushers are going to be coached by Gilbert Brown, a former Green Bay Packer defensive lineman.  Jim was not only an amazing player and teammate, he was also a great student!!  I'd say "argueably" the best WR in Warhawk history.. Goo, 96Warhawk, Voice,  where would you guys rank Jim compared to Stanley and Mrkvicka??  All three are GREAT players.

Let me preface this by saying that they are all GREAT receivers........

1. Derek Stanley (drafted but for more tangile reasons:a. Fastest by a lot, b. Incredible energy, and c. an unreal leaping ability to go with his great catching ability)

2. Jimmy Leszczynski (Great hands, runs great routes, second fastest out of the group, and a devastating downfield blocker. The hardest hit I've ever seen in my life is when he leveled that Platteville receiver on a clean-up downfield block in 05. The guy landed headfirst and got carted out on an ambulance and the hit was legal too. He's the strongest out of the group and actually benched 225 for 17 reps)

3. Neil Mrkvicka (Great Hands, Runs Great Routes, Good Speed)

All of these guys are big time performers and made/make clutch plays at critical moments.

Something that hasn't been mentioned on this board is that UMHB is a bit banged up on offense.  Thrasher injured his ankle a couple weeks ago against NC Wes. in the first quarter and didn't return - he did play last week (138 yards), the starting center was injured last week and didn't return, and Oliver, the starting WR had an ACL injured in the Trinity game and has been out.  Daniels the other RB had 79 yards last week in 18 carries, 50 coming on one TD run.

Daniels has almost 1500 yards rushing on the season averaging 7.8 a carry and 19 TDs.  He's plenty good, and if he gets past the defense there are very few people in all of D3 who are fast enough to catch him... runs somewhere in between a 4.2 and 4.3 I believe.

It's true.  He had scholarship offers to play football, but decided to stay home and play for the home team (he's from Belton).  My understanding is that he's a very good student and scored enough in external academic scholarships while in high school that he could go where he wanted.  And don't be fooled by the size listed in the program.  Daniels is pretty stinking strong here is a snippet from his Belton Wall of Honor entry:

Daniels also excelled in track and field and during his junior season of 2005 he placed 3rd in District 13-5A in the 100 meters at 10.97 and 4th in the 200 meters at 22.10.  He finished 6th in the regional in the 200 at 22.33.

Quincy also met considerable success in powerlifting finishing 2nd in the regional and 7th at state as a soph; 2nd in the regional and 7th at state (1,445) as a junior; and 1st in the regional 181 lb. division at 1,445 lbs. as a senior.  At the Midway meet in Jan. of 2006 Quincy won 1st in the 181 lb. division and set a meet record beating the old squat record with a 560 lb. lift, the old deadlift record with pull of 620 and the overall record with 1,450 lbs. ranking him at that time first in the region and state.

30 on one of the runs....
Just a correction.

Thanks HSWho2007 for the correction...when I looked at the UMHB/Wesley game stats, the scoring summary near the top of the page is in very small font, I read it to be a 50 instead of a 30 (yes, I am old and my eyes really suck)...further down there is a scoring summary with a larger font and it is clearly a 30 yard TD run for Daniels.

After reading about Daniels, I'm wondering if there's any way WW can just forfeit the game and save everyone a lot of time.

Talking about WW receivers, I find it hard to leave Tenney out of that conversation.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.
