Can anyone tell me the last time they saw an aiding and abetting the runner call made in a college game?  I can remember a few in high school but I honestly can not recall any in a college game.

Interestingly that rule was created originally in response to the practice of a team picking up a runner and tossing him over the goal line twice in a game long ago.  I think the main reason it isn't called is that generally speaking it's the pile that is being pushed, not specifically the runner.

Please note I said "generally" and am not referring to this incident specifically.

I can't think of one.  It seems to get called a little more often in high school as I have seen it called a few times in those games.  An interesting question was brought up on the OAC board.  The rule actually states that you cannot assist the forward progress of a "man."  So, when Colorado had that female kicker a few years back, could they have picked her up and carried her into the endzone for a two point conversion?
They should have practiced harder.

For those WIAC posters bemoaning why CCIW teams won't schedule WIAC teams, Wheaton has updated it's future schedules on the Wheaton website.

Wheaton will play UW-Platteville in 2010 and 2011.  Their other 2 non-conference opponents for those seasons have not be set yet (or at least posted).

I'm glad to see this and hope it will continue with other WIAC teams in the future.

Wheaton's 2008 and 2009 non-conference slate should be reasonably challenging.  3 recent playoff teams - Bethel (semi-finals this year), Concordia (Wis.) and Hope.

They could have, but the Colorado players were far more interested in trying to split the uprights.

Here is a Stagg Bowl account from a new good friend that is writing a book about college football fans and tailgating. He attended and wrote about Stone Station back in October during his 20,000 mile football journey this fall. After finishing his journey at the UCLA/USC game 3 weeks ago he remembered an invite to the Stagg Bowl, jumped in his car in Chicago and gave this account:

Safe to say, he now knows what D-III is all about.

Merry Christmas to all you U-dub-dub fans. I'd send you each a present but I know you already opened it on Dec. 15th! ;)

Peace

Thank you!  The revamp of the Lin/UWW game is on Catdomealumni.com's list for this upcoming spring.  I have no idea how I'm going to pack all of that game into just 10 minutes.

Hey guys, just wondering if UWW had any D3football.com All-Americans this year?  :D

And the "Big Hit's" videos are classic.  A great effort and an admirable show of support for your team.

Duffman, shouldn't you be on the MIAC board talking about ice fishing instead of causing trouble over here.....
