That would be a great honor for Beaver and a awesome way to cap off his career and possibly jump start his future. I know Trey Bell was an alternate due to an injury in 2005 and then Bob Docherty was selected to play in it in 2006 which was the same year coach Berezowitz coached in it. As he was selected as AFCA Division three coach of the year
I am not sure if the AFCA has anything to do with the Hula Bowl or not maybe Pat knows. However if Coach Leipold is selected s AFCA division three coach of the year which is voted on by his fellow AFCA member coaches then he may be taking a vacation to Hawaii. Like I said I am not sure if the AFCA even has a relationship with the Hula Bowl anymore. Hopfully Pat knows this type of thing.
GOOD LUCK Justin

Pat Coleman

The AFCA no longer has a hand in the Hula Bowl, which means we no longer have an automatic bid to the game for a player or coach.  :-\

Last year at this time the Hawks had to replace an NFL WR (Derek Stanley), The D3 Defensive Player of the year (Ryan "Mustard" Kleppe), The D3 O-lineman of the year (Max Sakellaris), The two-time WIAC Player of the Year (Justin Jacobs), a TE who until he got hurt would have been a Washington Redskin (Pete Schmitt), a two-time All American at LB (Robb Widuch), and Beaver's Fullback since he was able to walk (Travis Reuland)...all the hawks did??? WIN THE NATIONAL TITLE!!! I doubt next year's team would expect anything than the same...and they shouldn't!!

...one more thing to add to your list that also turned out to be a rather seamless transition...replacing a long time Head Coach.  ;)

All that being said, I would still take the field against UWW to win the conference in 2008.

Happy new year, everybody.

It would be tough to top 2007, but I'm ever hopeful ...

:)  :)  :)
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Happy New Year to all on the WIAC board. May all your teams have winning records this year. ???

Whitewater's Stagg Bowl win and national championship earned the number 10 spot in the annual Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal Top 10 Sports Stories in Wisconsin for 2007, as voted on by members of the Journal-Sentinal sports staff.  Numbers 1-9 were either Packers, Brewers, or Bucks news.

With all due respect to the deserved honors those pro teams receive, number 10 is kind of weak.

But considering the way the Journal Sentinel covers sports, that's probably the best you can expect.  The only thing they cover worse than sports is news.  Well, and weather.  And local entertainment.  And probably a few other things ...

I was just happy to see that they were mentioned. Which is nice to see especially since they are division three, and as the majority of my family woud say no one gives a S#It about division three atheltics as after they graduate they have to go get jobs. I smiled and said thats the greatest part of division three sports. They are playing for nothing else then the love of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if you start hearing some of Whitewater's assistant coahces get mentioned for jobs such as coach Zebrowski. Thats what success does it leads to promotions coordinators to head coaches, position coaches to coordinators. If it doesn't happen, then it has to make you wonder what is wrong. However I believe it will, as all the full time staffers at UWW seem like down to earth level headed team player type guys.
I don't know if he would leave after just one year. However he has won the big one national title ,and know as the OC of a record breaking offense that will get his named noticed. As much as I would like to say the Hawks will repeat next year it will be tough to do,as they need to find a lot of replacements for key compenents of both the offense and defense.

That is the only reason he went to UWW in the first place. If I am not being clear enough (use your TALENT to move on to a BETTER HEAD COACHING JOB than LAKELAND offered.) He will leave asap to be a head coach somewhere else thats what he wants to be. He had been trying for a few years while coaching Lakeland to land a head coaching job somewhere else. He even interviewed for one the other UW school head coaching jobs, but did not get it after the 2005 season. Not to mention while at Lakeland he was the biggest anti-UWW in the world. He would talk so much smack talk about UWW it was amazing a coach could be that ignorant.  Also, all he cares about is his himself and maybe family. Give him time you will find this out.  He just plays all the politics of division 3 football to a tee and only successful around other peoples talent. His first recruit class at Lakeland only graduated 5players out of 50. Not to mention he saw the talent declining so he was jumping ship to better himself.

But they do a great job on the ice fishing, hunting  and bowling report.
Example: Last Wednesday night on the way home from rolling a league high 720 series and downing 6 beers and 7 "purple Hazes",  "big" Joe Wabowski hit a  6 point white tail  on route 614. The impact cause front end damage to his snow sled. Instead of calling authorities for assistance Big Joe stayed in the nearest ice fishing shack where he and the buck recovered nicely and found thier way home the next day. Authorities did not charge Big Joe with drunk driving but did cite the buck for fishing without a license.  ;D

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Yep, that's the kind of story we get.  Gangs committing murder?  Feh.  They only send those reporters out to find a guy who uses rattlesnake venom to brush his teeth, or the person with the world's largest collection of bellybutton lint.

Truthfully there are very few in WHITEWATER who care why he left Lakeland.

Why wouldn't someone leave Lakeland to go to Whitewater? ......... There is no comparison.....
