It was a tale of two halves at La Crosse today, as the Eagles beat upstart Oshkosh 33-18.The Titans dominated the first half, leading 18-6 at the break. I thought the Eagles were down and out, but the coaches seemed to have put a fire under the troops at halftime. They put on a great second half performance on both sides of the ball, and won going away. Great job, Eagles. The loss must have been a bitter one for the up-and-coming Oshkosh program, but I see brighter days ahead for them. Now, let's all be WARHAWKS - and wish WW a long and triumphant playoff run. Bring the trophy to Wisconsin.

kubiack78  - I think the WSUC changed to the WIAC in 1998? I don't recall for sure; I'm an old timer, who still refers to UWL as the Indians... Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I hope...

Final: UWEC 30, Platteville 14

Jesse Krzyzanowski sets team record for single season in completion percentage, and for completed passes. Not bad for someone who paid his dues and only started one season...

He finishes the year with 214 completions, with 61 to brother Darin, also a single-season team record.

214 completions doesn't seem like a lot, I guess, compared to 268, 276 and 332 (league record) seasons by Points' Kirk Baumgartner. But 21 completions per game seems like a lot, I guess. He ran a nice effective passing game...

Mitch Schaeuble's 10 FGs on the season are also a team record. He stepped admirably. League record for made FGs was last year, by Oshkosh's Lucas Raschke, who had 19.

Well, enough with the trivia...

Whitewater: Make some noise in the playoffs. Bring back a few Ws for the conference and those in it who will pulling for you... Best of luck, and keep it rolling, Warhawks....

Thanks bulk, Yeah I remember when they changed to the eagles that was late 80's wasn't it.  I belive I was a soph at UWW when they changed... too long ago to remember exactly.

I think the name change from WSUC to WIAC was 1997 and integrated the WWIAC at the same time.

UW-L men's program changed to the Eagles in 1989 and the women followed suit one year later.

Congrats to Whitewater on completing the perfect season. I was hoping to make the trip to for a first round game, but with (shameless plug) West Salem upsetting W-F I'll be at Camp Randall before heading to the Kohl Center.

Foss, I have not seen WW play this year.  In fact, I have not been able to partake much this year with football because of personal issues early on in the season.  I have been able to catch a couple of Stout games in the past few weeks including todays.  So I guess I won't be much help.
I may not have much to say, but I'll say it anyway.
