If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words?

You are right, human beings commit crimes but gun rights advocates like to make this an, "all or nothing arguement."  I don't agree.  It is about automatic weapons, not all firearms, and having controls that recognize and deal with the advanced tehnology of firearms.  If this guy had only had access to the shotgun, with campus police on the scene in 29 seconds and city police there 60 seconds later, how much less carnage would have he been able to inflict in that minute and a half? But in this particular instance, because of this guys history of documented mental illness, measures should have been put in place to prevent him from  purchasing any firearms, IMHO.

Sorry for the soapbox, Gentlemen.  Figured it wouldn't be a receptive audience but any dialogue on the subject has to be a good thing, doesn't it?  Again, my condolences to those whose lives have been affected by this senseless tragedy.

413.    Not to enter into this fray too much, but it would help your argument if you knew the difference between semi-automatic weapons and automatic weapons. A semi auto will fire about as fast as a revolver, i. e., as fast as you can pull the trigger.  Generally, semi auto pistols will carry more rounds in a magazine than a six shot revolver, but with speed loaders, even that doesn't slow down the reloading process much. With a couple shotguns, even pump action, you can probably do more damage than with a couple semi auto pistols. There are plenty of federal laws limiting what weapons one can buy or manufacture. There are laws limiting who can have weapons. There are also states and municipalities that limit that even more. Go to DC and see if a ban on all handguns has done the job. It's a much more nuanced problem than just weapons or no weapons.

It appears a WIAC Pro Day will be held in Madison on March 5th at the McClain Center in an invitation only event. According to this video from TMF4 in Milwaukee, Justin Beaver says 8 are scheduled to participate 1 hour after UW concludes their Pro Day. The interview doesn't reveal who the other 7 participants will be...any guesses out there?

I know only for sure that, Beaver, Raebel and Ramsier have received invites and will be participating in the WIAC Pro Day. The three have been working out together regularly at that facility that Beaver referred to in the interview.
