Wildcat.....That is a great video and done in such an unbiased manner.....you are to be commended. It brings back some great memories of sitting in the stands watching the most enjoyable football game I have ever seen in person. I also remember the Linfield fans who were the classiest we ever encountered in our five years following the team from game to game. Bravo!!!!!......

Really, really awesome, 11!  Now that does it justice!  It allows those of us who had the priviledge of witnessing that game first hand to relive it all over again and  everyone who was not there to get a real feel for what we all have been raving about.  That was some great football by two great teams!  Thanks so much for the effort.

Wildcat11, great video.  My parents were unable to fly out and watch the game, so even though the game was nearly three years ago, my dad got a real kick out of seeing the highlights.  Especially since I had a pretty solid game  ;)

We don't rebuild.  We reload.  Finish the mission.

AA, I see an e-mail address with "punt43"... this wouldn't be the pride of Muskego, would it?  :)

3 field goals @ park your junior year. Patrick Hunter couldn't compete.

Hmm, from watching the video, yes you did.

Keith and I watched this game the night before the Stagg Bowl that year, the coaches' video. This was a little more exciting.

Welcome, 91.  Allow me to be the first to give you karma.  Not just the two times you disrupted his passes but also finished 2nd on the team in tackles with 7 including 2 TFL's.  Great game!

Thank you, Pat and 413.

AA, as far as Patrick Hunter, he was certainly one of the classiest high school kids I've ever met.  Boy could he run.  Did you know he was a Football National Runner Up (just like us) for Northern Iowa?  I love being a Park graduate, but I teach and coach for Horlick now, so I'm all about the Rebels.

Back to the WIAC... The huge comeback at LAX was awesome.  I had to read about it in the newspaper and catch the replay on TV.  At that point, I knew the 2008 'Hawks were going to go deep.  As a former player, I definately took a lot of pride in their accomplishment that day.  However, I have a certain bias about that Linfield game, so I will say it was the better of the two.

A key point about the Linfield game that gets overlooked is when we failed to score from two yards out following the Ogrizovich fumble recovery, Linfield had a chance to really run down the clock.  They were stopped for a lose on first down and decided to throw the ball on second and third down.  I want to say there was great coverage on both passes by #6  Matt Blaziewske (CB/ Kenosha Tremper)... please correct me if I'm wrong on that.  It is in my opinion that Linfield's inability to drain the clock at that point gave us the necessary time and momentum to come down and score the go-ahead TD (Justin Beaver).

That is very correct.  I didn't highlight that becuase I was running out of time (10 min max on vids hosted by YouTube) and I threw up in my mouth a little when I watched the 'Cats go 3 and out while standing in our own EndZone.

That was so painful because if we even pick up one first down the game was probably over but of course that is not how it played out.  Hell, with :47 seconds left I still though we had a chance.   :'(

From my Fanball.com Fantasy Newsletter regarding honorary WIAC alum Owen Schmitt...

Jul 14, 2008 07:17 PM CDT
Schmitt agrees to four-year contract
The News
The Seahawks and fullback Owen Schmitt have agreed to a four-year deal, Scout.com reports. Schmitt was a fifth-round pick out of West Virginia this past April.
Our View
Schmitt trails Leonard Weaver on the fullback depth chart and probably won't see much action as a rookie. He is a talented lead-blocker, though, and should have a long future in the league. As happens with fullbacks, Owen has no fantasy value.
