He asked what was the latest word on the rumor not what his name was and I answered that question.  I haven't revealed it because of the way posters have climbed all over West Coast Coach's butt for his posts and I don't particularly care to put the player in the middle of that nonsense.  Nor do I care to turn him into a topic of discussion.  I still feel that way.   If he's all that you'll know his name soon enough.  If not I don't think it benefits anyone to have him bad mouthed here.  In the meantime reviewing the posts since the last discussion on him suggests that knowing his name hasn't been necessary for anyone to move on to other things.

Sorry to disappoint you and others but that's how I feel.

You shouldn't have to apologize.  Thanks for the information.  In DIII, enrollment and showing up the first day of camp is most important, so that puts the rumors to rest.  Thanks again.

The kid is Dennis Void from Duquesne University.  Looks like he was receiving quite a bit of interest coming out of high shool in NY, but based on my research, had to attend a community college for academic reasons.  (Yes, it appears he was receiving some interest from MAJOR D1 programs.)  Also looks like he suffered an ankle injury that prevented him from receiving significant playing time at Duquesne.

I wish him all the best at UWW.  I think he will be surprised at the level of talent, but hopefully he will get back on track and help the team fill a major void with the loss of Justin.   ;)  I wish him all the best with school this year as well.  Good luck Dennis.  GO HAWKS!!!

Don't feel you disappointed me bw? Just have a difference of interpretation of all those previous posts including the post from dallas yeasterday.  I considered the name of the young man important to put a name to a face, so to speak.  If names weren't important, I feel, we wouldn't have them.  But, I understand your concern about the bad mouthing.  Though I don't think any regular on this board would show such disrespect for a guy they have never met or seen play - I take that back, there are a few bad eggs everywhere probably - but that's beside the point.

Now that dallas has put a name to the young man, you may know he has a younger brother Brian Void, a red-shirt sophomore LB this year, at the University of Delaware. He was scheduled to red-shirt his freshman year for the Blue Hens, but was forced into action due to other injuries.  He sustained an ankle injury in the only game he appeared in and was lost for the season.  The NCAA granted him a medical red-shirt year based on the circumstances of the injury.  He has a older brother cousin Jared Void who played football at Purdue.  I remember him to be a pretty good runner himself.  Sounds like a good football family.  Dennis Void ran for 170 yards and a touchdown in 2006 as a sophomore for Duquesne.

Dennis Void was listed as a Junior two years ago in the 2006 season.  What's up with that?  He's not listed listed on the 2007 roster.  So, does he have an extra year of eligibility for some reason?  In any case, it looks like this is his last year, no?

(I'm not sure what is up with that first link, though.  The link is the 2006 roster, but the page title says 2007.  The link to the 2007 roster also has a title of 2007.  The link to the 2008 roster says 2008 on top.  All very confusing.  The rosters on the 2007 and 2008 lists have different players, none of whom are Void, so I don't think it was a rushed copy job.  Mystery...  Conspiracy!)

(This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds.  Good luck, Dennis.)
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Voice has posted the WW camp roster

http://www.warhawkfootball.com/pdfForms/PreseasonUWWFootballAlphaRoster2008.pdf

Question, is that the same Rob Perry from the basketball team who was a senior this year? He is listed as a freshman. Does he have any eligibility left?

Also, no Josh Jackson on the list.

badgerwarhawk

Interestingly the Rob Perry on the football roster is the same height/weight and has the same high school listed as the Rob Perry on the basketball roster.   I thought he had used his eligibility but perhaps I'm mistaken because the coincidences are just too strong.

I noticed Joe Munn, who came to WHITEWATER with Danny Jones and excelled in baseball, is also playing football this year.  I had heard that was a possibility during the baseball season last year.  He's a very good athlete.

Milton High School's Derek Underwood who was a running back last year and I've thought would have been a good wide out is listed as a defensive back this year.    Justin Spaulding, Milton's stud running back last season, is on the roster.

Gotta love the high number of players in preseason camp.... Also as much as voice hates it, A steady stream of flatlanders are coming up to WW!!  I personally love it!!

Very interesting from the roster posted:

Rich Downie   OL  6'3"  141 lbs.  FR  Olympia Fields, Illinois/Marion Catholic

Kind of makes you go  ???

Also, that other highly touted RB discussed a while back, Levell Coppage, 5'9" 180 lbs from Oak Park, IL, is listed.

I smell some rotten eggs in Denmark, some shenanigans in Sweden, some wiftiness in Whitewater. We're going to get to the bottom of this bottomless pit. There are so many mixed metaphors, it's making my head spin. Are the Warhawks up to no good? Do they need to pull some tricks in order to keep their level of play up to the past three years? I'm on it.

Wow, I am amazed at the increased number of players from Illinois.  Got to be some coaches in the CCIW who are not happy!  ;)   Why would Voice hate it?  A couple of FIB's named Raebel and Sakallaris seemed to work out just fine for the Hawks the last few years! ;D

Well you have to think that within Chicagoland there are as many potential DIII athletes as are within the whole State of Wisconsin....if only we could set up tolls to get our share of money from them like they do us

BW,
Just a slight modification to your Joe Munn reference. He did not come to UWW with DJ. He came after visiting the school and DJ during the playoffs last year.  I beleive his first taste of UWW was the Wabash game. Can he play football?  oh yeah. WR or safety.

Looks like the Hawks may have picked up an impact player (Kyle Supianoski) at LB via transfer from Truman State, a DII school....last year he was third on the team in total tackles, second in tackles for loss with 9 and had 4.5 sacks

Well, at least the University gets their share of money from them.  It's called out-of-state tuition.  ;)
