Actually, the individual listed as Rob Perry, is the brother of Steve Perry, one time "Journey" lead singer, who was the driving force of that group along with guitarist Neil Schon, who, at one time played with Santana, which means that Johann Santana will be the pitcher for the Warhawks football team this year. ;)

Would he be related to Molly Pitcher?

Yes, who is a direct ancestor of Molly Hatchet.

...southern rockers and the inventors of the tomahawk chop, no doubt!

UW-Eau Claire's starting QB from 2006 and the first two games of 2007 is back. Kyle Paulson...

Not sure if Ben Luehrs is back, too; he started this summer for the 10-1 Eau Claire Crush.

A key addition to the backfield will be the return of FB Scotty Osborn, who was injured last year as well. I do believe he's back....

Excuse me for my ignorance, bulk19, but what is the Eau Claire Crush? A semi-pro team?  If so, wouldn't that make players ineligible for collegiate ball?

does any team but UWW exist in the WIAC? how about some conversation regarding the "others"?

Feel free to start, rather than complaining about what everyone else is saying.

Continuing with the fun and games. Could Scotty Osborn be related to Ozzy Osborn ? If so his nick name could be "crazy train osborn"  ;D

Yes and Cannon Guy and Willie are not listed nor the cheerleaders, water boys, etc.  The mystery gets more mysterious.  :o

I smell some rotten eggs in Denmark, some shenanigans in Sweden, some wiftiness in Whitewater. We're going to get to the bottom of this bottomless pit.

Retagent; there is definitely a need for detailed investigation here...  The lack of evidence combined with innocent mistakes can only mean one thing: Conspiracy!  Piracy!  Shifty Dealings!

We eagerly await your reports on the following loose and unexplained threads...

There are a couple of breaks in that scan - and in one spot it even looks like there is the top edge of another line (below Mathison).

So I'm wondering if there might be a bit more beyond what we can see on that list - (one gap is between Huber and Jaro - and Jackson would fit in that gap ... )

You see, there was this guy on the grassy knoll ...  8)

Interestingly the Rob Perry on the football roster is the same height/weight and has the same high school listed as the Rob Perry on the basketball roster.   I thought he had used his eligibility...

Dennis Void was listed as a Junior two years ago in the 2006 season.  What's up with that?  He's not listed listed on the 2007 roster.  So, does he have an extra year of eligibility for some reason?  In any case, it looks like this is his last year, no?

Any reasonable or straight forward explanations must be dismissed.  That's just what the conspirators would want us sheeple to believe...  At this point, I don't think we can trust anything.

As last years WIAC Pick'em Season Champion, footballfan413, isn't it your responsibility to get the ball rolling on the organization for the 2008 Pick'em contest?  I think it's time to start rounding up the usual suspects and maybe lasso a few of the newer posters and popular guest stars on the WIAC board for seasons worth of fun and games.  What do you think??? :P  ;)

SOOOOOO........ let me get this straight.  My reward for being the 07 WIAC Pick'em Season Champion is to be given the responsibility to organize the new season?  I liked it better when the prize was a bottle of Captain Morgan.   ;D
Seriously, BoBo, you did such a great job last season handling the results during the play-offs that I nominate you to take them over for the regular season, if you are willing.  I suggest that everyone interested head on over to the WIAC pick-em's board and register your intentions to participate.

I am honored that numero uno of the WIAC pick'em would nominate me based on my performance during the playoffs last year.  But, I was hoping to give you a run for the money (or the Captain Morgan) in this years contest and improve on my second place overall finish.  To do so, I would have to pass the torch of updating the results to someone else to fully focus my energy on the man wearing the bullseye on his back!!

I see where the roll-call as begun on the pick'em page - so let's just keep that going for now and see if someone wants to step up to the plate and take over the responsibilities.
So, at the moment, the best answer I can give is to be non-committal.  Let's see how things play out.

What a line of crap!  LOL!  That's me and my beloved Warhawks this season.  The ones wearing the bullseye!  I am in good company.  Ok, sounds good.  Let's see if one of the youngster's will take it over.  Maybe Nate will step up again.   I can do it if necessary but math is not my strong suit!   :D

They may be referred to as semi-pro, but they don't make any money.  Actually, the players usually have to pay a fee to play.

bulk-

I don't think Luehrs will be playing this season.

413 - I am touched to be asked to participate ib the WIAC Pick-em. My eyes are teary as I write this. Actually my knowledge of the WIAC is rather limited. I have been able to catch a few games last year on the FSN WI channel, and  the five or six UWW games that I have attended have only let me see them play UWL  in that league. I may give it  a shot though and let all take shots at me when I show my ignorance. : ;)

retagent, you probably didn't see this on Olympic coverage on NBC because they probably never show it, but during the Judo competition, Choi Min-ho won his Judo weight class and the gold.  What made it special is that he became known through the Korean media the following day as the "Prince of Tears" for his uncontrolled sobbing on the mat following his victory over his Austrian competitor and during the medal awards ceremony that followed. Would this be similar to your teary expression of joy reading 413's invitation?  If so, can we call you the WIAC "Prince of Tears!?"
