voice, I would think an advance sale of 3000 would translate into a crowd slightly more than 3000, no?  Now, knowing that La Crosse usually travels well, that number might be slightly higher, so what kind of crowd is expected once all the turnsiles stop spinning?

9,000

So, the walk up crowd is double the advance sale?...is that the typical breakdown?  Oh...I didn't know that!

There is usually no pressure to buy a ticket in advance since the chance for a sellout is negligible....so I would think that the walk up crowd is usually at least double

I think a senior GPA of 3.93 or 3.82 in kinesiology, P.E. or anything is impressive. It measures and honors a high level of effort over a 4 year period and, at the same time, combined with football performace and community leadership abilities, shows quality young men.  As someone who worked my butt off to get a 3.3 GPA and worked nearly full time for 3 of my 4 1/2 years as an undergraduate, I tip my hat to them. To me, rather than contributing to the stereotype that is collegiate athletes, an award like this might motivate other student-athlete football players to perform better on and off the gridiron.

The high level of effort is my point...I knew plenty of PE majors and none put forth much effort. May I remind you I also worked my but of to get a 3.2 GPA and did work full time out of season for all 5 years of my undergraduate studies. I however, had two majors that required an actual high level of effort. With my previous post, I am trying to show the perspective of a non-student athlete. i.e. of course this might motivate other student-athletes...motivate them to switch majors to PE. Get the idea? I stirred the pot enough...I'm sure those up for the award (I know one of them personally) are exceptions to the examples I used. Alright, back to Football talk...

We had all this hype about Dennis Void. Any chance the guy sees the playing field now that Coppage has emerged?

The walk up is usually around 3000.  Perhaps it will be slightly lower because of the increase in advance sales but when you count 2500-3000 students who will attend and LaCrosse generally brings a nice size group we could be approaching the 9000 mark.

Let's FILL THE PERK.  We need to set the attendance record for a real event, like a football game, not some psuedo event like a Neil Diamond concert.   ;D

Coppage, A. Anderson and Spaulding are the top three backs as it stands today and that doesn't count the projected starter J. Anderson who is still rehabbing an injury.

So, I guess Dennis Void doesn't get any PT unless we have a home blow-out.  Probably doesn't make the WIAC travel roster, either (is it 60?)

Your not endearing yourself to the thousands of Neil Diamond fans who still think he's one of the greatest entertainers ever  :D . I've been around long enough to remember that show, but I still don't believe that concert had the largest crowd at Warhawk/Perkins Stadium.  I remember the crowds at some of those DCI events and I could swear they had more...but, that's beside the point...

Bruce Langer got a chance to play at QB against Puget Sound and did some good things...I wonder if we will see him playing a series or two in games in the future? A nice little dual threat change of pace...

Goo 62

Nice work Shermy on the nomination.  Oshfb try not to break your arm patting yourself on the back about how hard you worked.  Also remember you have to be good a football to be nominated.

Big one this weekend, Im guessing over 10,000 for sure.  Wish I could be there to see Coppage run wild behind the always impressive UWW offensive line.

My prediction:

24-7

MIAC or CCIW.....Don't really know who is better.....St.Johns/Bethel and Wheaton/North Central/Augustana are usually good these last few years but not good enough.....How important that is to WIAC supporters I am not certain. One thing I know is that this week at the Perk the tailgate looks solid with Italian Beef and Sausage on the menu as remnants of the Goo Crew returns to watch Coppage and the Oline Pound the Rock against LAX....See you all at the Perk Saturday!......Tom Moore brings the soup.....

Eagerly waiting for tomorrow at the Perk. I'm gald someone brought up tailgating. Our section will be featuring (don't laugh) french toast and suasages at 9:30. Then grilled itialian suasages again at halftime. We brought french toast last year during the playoffs, and everyone around us was asking to have some. So, if anyone is interested come stop by for a drink and some breakfast food, just follow the sweet aroma of syrup. We'll probably be the section with Chicago Bears bag games going on.

Anyone else coming early to the stadium?

Lets do it 'Hawks!!!!

I will be one of those walk-up people.  Have to officiate a youth game in the morning, then hustle over to Whitewater, probably just before game time.

Somebody save me a seat!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Sakman 1111

We should be there early from Chi-Town.....Italian Beef and Sausage for us.....Pound the Rock!!!.....How annoying is the talk about whose major is more difficult....Answer--Terribly annoying....

I'm sure he's seen it. Just not sure if he's been on it.

My guess for attendance, anywhere from 8,000 to 10,000.  Student crowd and La Crosse crowd will have alot to say if we challenge the all-time FOOTBALL attendance record.

Everyone was "stoned" at the 1970 Neil Diamond concert at then Warhawk Stadium.  I don't think anyone was "in shape" to count 10,000 tickets ;)
