After looking at the scores around the west today and for the previous 3 weeks, it could be argued that WW and EC are #'s 1 and 2 in the region.

WOW, what a day!!! 11,000+ at the perk, it was rockin (WIAC record attendance)!!! So much for LaCrosse coming in and giving the 'Hawks a game. UWW displayed why they will run the table AGAIN in the WIAC. They dominated both sides of the line today. They were consistantly in the backfield of LaCrosse's offensive, while Coppage had huge holes to run through, 176 yards rushing. It was over before halftime!! Defense look strong with its first shutout of the year, stuffing UWL on 4th and goal in the third quarter

Whitewater seems to be getting stronger every game. I don't see them losing the rest of the regular season. Can't wait till the next home game later this month.

Go U-DUB-DUB!!!!

I apologize for sounding as though I was personally knocking any of the four nominated...if that was how it was taken my point was missed. Again, I apologize.

Well, why don't you explain exactly what your point was then?  Frankly I don't think I misunderstood a word of it.  But I'm gracious enough to accept your apology.

As an outside observer, my thoughts about the Warhawks based on watching the first half yesterday. Although they don't seem to have the individual talents that they have had the past few years (5 or 6 All-Americas) the Warhawks look very solid. I don't know if they are good enough to go all the way this year (although I wouldn't rule it out) but their youth has me worried that next year and the year after that, might be better than this year. It was hard to tell because UWL didn't seem to have anything that could be used to gauge how good UWW really is. Some, if not most of their futility can be attributed to the play of the Warhawks, butthis years Eagles just seemed to lack the discipline, swagger and talent that I saw a couple years ago when they at least gave some opposition.

I hope this tempers what some might see as criticism, but was really meant as at least a little bit of a compliment. Individual talent may be what puts a team over the top, but good team play  is a joy to watch too. The offensive line was impressive. I don't want to downplay Coppage, but even an average runner would look good with the blocking he gets.

Yesterday was 60 minutes of total domination topped off by a team of scrubs stuffing the Eagle at the two yard line after first and goal field position.

There is an old football saying that describes the LaCrosse team I saw yesterday and that is "you are what your record says you are."

I hope that we can set an attendance record.. I'm sick of seeing the Perk half empty... especially from the students...

Have to take exception to this SD.  The student attendance for the home opener was exceptional in my opinion.  The section was full and very loud!  I expect nothing less tomorrow.

Yes.. the home opener and yesterday's game (obviously) had great attendance numbers, and I'm more than happy to see students come out and (finally) support the 'hawks...

Also, I'm not so sure that was all scrubs that stopped LaCrosse on that goal line stand... I'm pretty sure I saw Jace Rindahl out there.. am I mistaken?

Yes, Rindahl made the tackle on Donoval on the fourth down play

UW-Whitewater's conference record 11,028 on Saturday at Perkins Stadium was more than attended the other three WIAC games combined.

UW-Oshkosh at UW-Eau Claire 4,000

UW-Stout at UW-Platteville 3,133 (Homecoming)

UW-Stevens Point at UW-River Falls 2,200 (Homecoming)

Total: 9,333

Whitewater unofficially leads the nation in D III attendance averaging 9,107 (for its two home games). St. Johns is second at 8,230 per game (four home games).

You're right.  That particular drive was earlier in the game than I remembered and we were still playing several starters.  I stand corrected.

It was however still a thing of beauty.  :D

Student attendance is our two home games has been simply outstanding.  I have to give them a lot of credit.  Winning the National Championship helped but I also think the promotional things the athletic department has done, like having the students paint the road purple and what it means to be a WARHAWK, etc., have really gotten the student body invested.

I give LaCrosse fans some credit too.  They brought a good sized group.  But LaCrosse has always traveled pretty well.

So, voice, I guess the next attendance goal for the season is to lead the nation in that, too.  It's obtainable. Time to take that crown from SJU, too.  No one wants to be part of a one hit wonder.

He was doing fine last I heard. He can't post anymore from where he's at. Rules and regulations, so he had to delete his posting account on here till he gets back home. He said he still reads when he has time though.
