I was wondering if any of you know if it is allowed at the division three level, for the football coaches or an athletic coaches to have mandatory off season conditioning and lifting. One of my friends sons is getting recruited by an out of state scholarship lower level program(non d1,1aa) and in the recruiting letter it said d3 schools can't have mandatory off season conditioning.
I was just wondering if anyone here knew if this was true. Maybe Voice because he works at the UWW could help us out with this question.

Off season conditioning is not mandatory on the D3 level.  All programs will distribute some sort of off season work out program but no coaches can have contact with athletes during the summer. Unlike the FBS who has total control of the scholarship athletes during the offseason.  That level only gives the athletes 3 weeks off from May to Aug.

reality check

Derek Stanley just made his presence felt in the Cards/Rams game.

An incredible 80-yard TD catch.  First career catch in the NFL goes for 80 yards  and he snatched it out of the defender's hands before seperating.

Good stuff for DIII!

As 1_for_27 said there's no mandatory offseason work in D-III.

But, if you think there's a successful D-III program out there whose players don't work just as hard as any D-I or D-II player in the off-season, then I have some "Congratulations, President Nader!" signs I'd like to sell you.

ALSO: Just saw the Derek Stanley highlight.  Very cool!

Also in that Cards/Rams game, Jerheme Urban from Trinty (TX) scored on a 56 yard pass.  When was the last time two different former D3 guys score TD's in the same NFL game?  Good day all around for D3, but the Cards won easily.

Warhawks (& Millsaps) play leap frog with Muhlenburg in the new D3 poll just out.  Warhawks move to 5th. Stevens Point moves up 3 positions to 14 after another near loss, but a win, to Oshkosh; Eau Claire dropped out of the Top 25 to 34th. The only rankings that matter this time of year, the NCAA Regional Rankings, come out Wednesday.

I'll tell you, and only beat you half to death.

The former All-State quarterback from Milton finished Saturday's game 2 of 3 passing for 17 yards. For the season, Langer is 6 for 10 passing for 75 yards and two touchdowns. He has also rushed for 60 yards on ten carries. That is ten yards per carry

frikkin new math.
