Let me put your mind at ease 02, If you win - you're in. Book It.

I sure hope so...if I remember correctly, a couple of years ago the Warhawk baseball team was the defending national champ, won the regular season WIAC title, finished second in the conference tournament...didn't make the NCAA tournament

WW isn't a lock to win Sat.  I remember going to Platteville in 2004 expecting an easy win, and leaving with a 7-6 loss. Platteville can D it up at times this year, may not be easy.

64-47 Badgers final. Good game for a while. WW wore down in the second half. Sorry about hoops on the football board.

Check the WIAC Basketball Board for box score and photo gallery from the Kohl Center.

JVF You are so correct....Remember the 2004 game well. Anything can happen in Platteville. Warhawks have to get back to Pounding the Rock and cut out the penalties especially the holding calls. It is true the Oline and the rest of the team are young but they have an entire season under their belts now so it is time to "Put up or Shut up"....Sorry we won't be there but will sure be listening....Go Warhawks!......

It might be nice to get Donovan back in the line-up, too. Langer did an acceptable job in the first half...but the second half he had problems running the team...of course the Stout D and the prior mentioned penalty problems had a lot to do with him losing his groove. That fact that JD was in uniform last week (right?), might he be back in the starting line-up this week?  Or do you hold him out another week to hopefully get another weeks rest under his belt for a possible first round playoff game? Risky, 'cause a loss might just have you turning in equipment next week.  If he's nearly 100%, what would you do ?  :-\

Since I haven't heard a word about his injury, has anyone, I don't know what to think. The scary part, is in the 04 game I mentioned, we had a qb with a shoulder injury, and tried not playing him. He came in later in the game, but was hurting so bad he was pretty ineffective. That and a dropped touchdown pass did WW in. I can't remember for sure, but the receiver who dropped the ball, I think, was a young receiver named Stanley. He turned out pretty good though.

Let's hope we don't have deja vu all over again in Platteville on Saturday.    :D

JD was in uniform last week.  However he did very little (and no throwing) during warmups.  I haven't heard anything about his status for Saturday but if he can play I'd play him.  This is a critical game.  The season could be riding on it.  Platteville has played well, particularly defensively, the past couple of weeks and has to have gained some confidence in the process.  Plus they'd like nothing more than to salvage their season by possibly ruining ours.   WW/Platteville games don't always turn out as predicted and I think we'd be better off with our #1 under center if that is possible.

If there is any doubt about his status than you probably have to sit him and hope Langer is up to the task.  Their rushing defense isn't as good as either Stevens Point or Stout, the two programs that have given us problems on the ground.  Hopefully that means we'll be better able to run the ball and control possession and time.

Platteville's defensive front averages 240, with a nose tackle at 250.  I would hope the game plan is to pound away between the tackles early and often.  While it was nice to see some long passes working against Stout, the intermediate stuff (which may have helped them pile up some more time of possession) was nonexistent.  The tight end can be the QB's best friend, no matter who is making the throws.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I wasn't at the Warhawk game on Saturday against Stout put I want to put in my two cents worth for the purple on purple look...I like it...now they only need to get different colored helmets for road games (like Oregon and Hawaii)  :D

Um ... NO.

The only mono-color combo that works is black on black.  Purple jerseys should pair with white pants, white jerseys with purple pants (black pants OK).  Not big on black on purple either - but I kind of liked the North Central game last year with purple on black.  A nice variation.

I think the only combination that I haven't seen them wear is the white on black

They wore that combo at Stevens Point last year.
