I've been out of pocket for a couple days, but didn't want to let too much time pass before I give my congrats to the Warhawks. Keep up the "Unimpressive" wins ;). Let's see how far you can go.

I thought Whitewater looked very good. I was impressed with the fact that you only have like 5 seniors on the team Plus you had the talent and speed to stop the Fly with only 1 week of prep. Nice work. I'll always remember the 2005 game vs. Linfield...that was a barn burner. Good luck to the Warhawks and it was nice to meet KitchenSink, he is a nice person!

A win is a win.  I'll take them anyway I can get them, especially in the play-offs.  I'm very excited to see the 'Hawks come home to the Perk this weekend.

Not looking too far ahead, but if W&J would beat MHB, and UWW would beat Wartburg, where would the W&J/UWW game be played?

We don't rebuild.  We reload.  Finish the mission.

I don't think it's a good idea to look ahead in the playoffs - all our energy must be on Wartburg.  They must be doing something right to get two road victories so far.  I'm sure they are feeling very confident right about now - Warhawks can ill afford a let down this week or we'll end up like Point. As a little added incentive for them, remember their coach, Rick Willis, was one of the finalist for the Warhawk HC job two years ago.

(but if you really need to know, I think it will be a warhawk home game - UWW would be the higher seed)  8)

I think they must have a good coach. Wartburg went down a notch....then they hired back the present coach. He seems to be able to motivate and recruit at a very high level. I happen to think that Whitewater will win though.

Congratulations to the Warhawks. Winning two playoff games on the road isn't easy, and the fact that your team is young makes it even more impressive.

The famous Fly certainly didn't pose many problems for you!

coco,
I think the fact that UW-W has so much speed helped out big time in stopping the fly.
They contained  the runs and for the most part didn't let them get outside. Big factor in stopping the fly.

Nice meeting Kitchensink, enjoyed talking with you and hope you had a good time during your short stay in Oregon.

Kitchensink,
By the way, my daughters, one a recent Grad and the other a freshman at the U.O. enjoyed the civil War game, I did too as I'm a Trojans fan ( my Father got his Dr. degree from USC) and the win sent them to the Rose Bowl. He also took class's from the U. of Wisconsin at Madison. So please you guys be nice. ;D

Best of luck on the road to the Stagg Bowl.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I believe that is incorrect, BoBo.  The regions are seeded by the NCAA when the info comes out on Selection Sunday.  This year the West was seeded 3rd and the South Region was seeded 2nd overall as they flip flopped from the last few years, I think.  It was believed that the West was down this year so the South Region Champ will host the West Region Champ.  Seeds within the region no longer count, only the regional seed.
BUT that discussion is for next Sunday, IF they win, since the Hawks do not look ahead and only play one game at a time!  ;)

This will be the last tailgate at the Perk and I am thrilled to have it!   Can't wait!

Congrats, Warhawks and staff on a terrific win.  Kept my blood pressure up too long as it was a nail biter until the end just like the last time we played in Oregon!  Congrats to the Bearcats who proved they are the real deal, refused to roll over and fought valiently until the end!  You had an amazing season.  The final buzzer was a welcomed relief.  Seems that the Hawks weren't the only ones delivering the blows.  Hope we are not too banged up.  Enjoy another play-off game in the Perk, Gentlemen.  You've earned it!

Truly the last 4 years have been magnificent for the Warhawks.......the future for the next two years looks very promising. UWW has become with Mount Union the premier program in D3 football. Should be rockin at the Perk next week.....Pound the Rock against Wartburg withhopefully Coppage and  A.A........

That's my understanding as well.  But I'm with you, first things first.  It isn't time to think about that yet.  Wartburg is playing their best football right now and put 27 points on the board vs the Stevens Point defense which is something we weren't able to do.  Time now to get ready for Wartburg.  Whatever happens in the South region happens and if we're lucky we'll be traveling in two weeks.  But that's for later.

What a game against Williamette.  For a first time meeting it's one our fans will remember for a  long time.  The gang in Cooper's barn were on pins and needles in the second half.  I hate to admit it but at times I wasn't sure we would be able to hold on.  Fortunately they never could stop our offense with any consistancy and Double A was a stud running behind a line of studs up front.

Not quite -- the regional's seed only comes into play if the two teams advancing to the semifinals are seeded the same. But UWW would travel either way, it looks like.
