...they may be physically gone, but we still have the memories!!  ;)

The improvement a Whitewater...player make from the time they were freshman until the time the graduate is a significant difference compared to that of the lower echelon private schools because of coaching and facilites....

...and steroids?  :o  :D

Wow. That's a dangerous comment to make, even with the emoticons. Do you have proof of that?

BoBo,
I hope you'll bring back the penguins.

No, Duffman has no proof because there is none.....it is just a very modest attempt at Duffman humor that can best be appreciated when you are innebriated sitting over a whole in the ice.....

Ya, Duff.  You know I am a fan of yours but this is coming dangerously close to crossing the line even with the little smiley's!!!  After three straight trips to the Stagg Bowl and 15 play-off games, (and 2 so far this year,)  the NCAA has drug tested the Warhawks up the ying yang! Funny they always, "randomly select," the starters, AA's and playmakers and they always pass!   >:( :P

OK, can't control myself finally with this public vs. private school crap....I have a son who attended UWW and played football and our family is guardian for a young man since high school who attends and plays basketball for the Elmhurst Bluejays. Both were/are excellent on their respective teams. Tuition/Room and Board at Elmhurst is well over $30,000 a year while out of state at UWW IS 16,000-18,000.....yet we pay far less for everything at Elmhurst than at UWW where we never got a $$$$....As was said players are not selected from the larger student body they are recruited just like the smaller private schools but I guarantee you that especially our out of state students pay way more. As for the Education program it appears to me UWW is simply a better program and is certainly comparable to Elmhurst programs in other areas......both seem to be fine schools. Every year is the same baloney with someone who lost pointing out their admission standards are higher .......unfortunately what is ignored is the finished product who has graduated. Their teams are not as good because Whitewater has better facilities, better coaching, and better players and they accomplish this without dangling as much money to recruits as smaller private schools. True Wisconsin is unique with only one DI football school and tuitions are comparably lower and that helps but the real reason for teams like Mount Union and UWW being successful every year is they just do a better job in all areas than the other schools......until the other schools realize that and improve in those areas they can continue to whine because the will continue to be a step or two behind......Pound the Rock guys and see you at the Perk this weekend.....

I think all UWW fans have to get used to this onslaught of written/verbal abuse. It seems that it comes with the territory of being on top. I haven't been posting here that long, but I'd bet Mount Union has heard its fair share of slander over the years from jealous fans giving their two cents on why they think MU has an unfair advantaged.

I'll take this as a form a flattery, becuase when you're on top, all people want to do is tear you down. We wouldn't be having this conversation if UWW was a middle-of-the-road program (and I'm not just talking about football).

Hope to see a big crowd saturday in the perking lot!!! Go 'Hawks!!!

I've been reading this board on and off all year, so sorry if this has been posted already.....BUT, the visitors' stands at the perk have been condemned. Unfortunately that only leaves 10k seats for everyone.

From that article:

"We are excited about the 2009 home season," Plinske said. "Seven out of our 10 games may possibly be at home, so we're fully prepared to have Perkins Stadium be a safe, accommodating and usable site for the 2009 games."

Not a beating, just some jabs. We're waiting to take our beating come Saturday. With inferior talent, coaches, and facilities, I'm pretty sure we don't stand a chance.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Champs07

Wow...Sakman you're right!! Don't be mad cause I get to where my NATIONAL TITLE RING around all weekend and watch my boys pound Wartburg all day!! And for those doing your stats I played in every game in 06 and 07...38 snaps in the 07 title game to be exact (but you wouldn't know much about title games, and whose really counting).  As far as stats I didn't have any your right but I did what it took to win games and for the rest of my life I can say I was a NATIONAL CHAMP!!  When a Wartburg player can say that...maybe I will talk to them.  That being said there were a lot good guys I met in Waverly that I still talk to today.  Funny thing was all but a couple transferred before they finished college.  Interesting!!!

I've read some of your posts and judging by your spelling and syntax that maybe you should have spent a little less time in the weightroom and a little more in the classroom. I'm sure your ring will impress your co-workers at the plant as much as it impresses me. You can always tell them how UWW wouldn't have won without you.

Good Job. You left where it was a little tough to go to a place with superior talent, coaching, and facilities to win a title. They couldn't have done it without you.
