Dear Pat, Ryan, Kieth and retagent.....
Would you please do us a favor and pick Mount Union by at least three touchdowns or more next weekend.  Thanking you in advance.
BW

I really didn't mind that you all picked against us but what bothered me is that you didn't think we could stay within two-three touchdowns of UMHB.  I mean, come on, we are the defending national champions.  We play perhaps one of the most difficult schedules in the best DIII league in the nation.  At least give us enough credit to make the game close.

I told everyone that I spoke with that Donovan would have to have a good game for us to win.  He started a bit slow but when push came to shove he was the man.  And our defense continues to be difficult to score against.  I didn't understand UMHB's decision to go for a field goal down three touchdowns and a two point conversion that late in the game.  All they gained was three points which eliminated the need to go for the two point conversion but they were still three scores down and it was late in the second half.

Flash, I think that's a good idea.  ;)

Don't forget how Wesley started off 2nd in the country  :D

Quote2 Scenarios:
1. A Stagg Bowl Championship, having defeated Warburg College in the Semi's and MUC in the Stagg.
2. A loss to UWW in the Semi's, but the satisfaction of knowing they had that shot at redemption!

Hell, Tex, let's take #2. At least we gave our Seniors one more shot at dem boys from Wisconsin!

That about sums it up.  Better to go down swinging that to take the path of least resistance.  Like I said not rational, but sometimes its more about the challenge than the result.

Well, glad we could accomodate ya'll. Ya got what you wanted. Congrats to the Cru for a great season.

Swede's congats to the 'hawks on another fine game.

Wow.  I never thought the game would be that one-sided.

You know, I ain't complaining, though ...   8)

Great job, Hawks.

I have to admit I didn't see it either.  It was hard to watch from a Cru-perspective.  Your defensive pressure forced our mistakes today.  It was one of the best defensive efforts I have seen ever in D3.

Did anybody honestly see it playing out that one-sided?

2 orf 3 in the triple take (read what they said) and 100% of the Cru posters (read what they wrote) on this board all week...

The only one I read that complained was a Wesley fan over on another board.

But, you took care of that, didn't you!!   ;)

This from a poster from one of the other boards:

QuoteTrying to fathom how a team other than The Mount can get to four straight Staggs makes my brain hurt.

Small but Slow

Great rivalries make sports great, Steelers/Cowboys, Lakers/Celtics, Red Sox/Yankees are what make their respective pro leagues great.  As fans of both schools we are fortunate to be a part of this much more exclusive (I prefer that to obscure) great rivalry.  Best wishes Warhawks as you prepare for the Stagg.  Hope to meet a few of you in Salem!

the champ is here to stay

I love the idea of the Hawks being g the underdog. Haven't we been the underdog the last three times we have played them in the stag bowl? As well as in 2002 and 2003.
My question is who on Mount Unions team are we going to love to hate since Garcon is gone?
I still think he had a reason to be cocky as he did school the poor hawk DB's against us in 05 and 06, and then we returned the favor to him last year.
I am sure Mount has some new transfer WR from Florida on their roster who is almost as good as Garcon who we will grow to hate very quickly. They always do.
Is there we can change the stag Bowl to purple Raiders & War hawks game. I mean how many times have two teams met in the stag bowl four years in a row? If that's not a record then I am not sure what to think.
GO HAWKS, but I am also picking the Mount, to Monkey stomp the hawks to hopefully to have what happen today happen again

My congrats to the Hawks ......I thought it would be a close game but not very close at all....The tandem of Coppage and Anderson is devastating and get ready to watch it for the next few years;in fact, get ready to watch the entire Warhawk team in the Stagg Bowl for a couple more years at least......

None of the three of us picked UMHB to win by more than two TDs, BW. Keith picked it by 7 and I did by 11. If that's all the credit you really wanted, I think you got it. :)

So, is the game seriously at 10 (11 ET)? The exact same time as comencement at UWW. If so, didn't they change the time last year? And, what are the chances of that happening again?

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

BoBo

Whatever happened to the Warhawks problem with penalties?  The box score says only 3 for 10 yards today.  The playoffs have seen a considerable drop in the numbers.  Has it been these out of conference officials, or what?

Uh yeah, I called it the "Beat down in Belton" earlier in the week. Had to change it to "Kumbiya in Bell County" because of politcally correctness.

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.
