This coming from watching spring ball? Just curious of source...I don't know the new OC personally so I dont know his offensive style...quite a change from years past though.

It appears UWO will try to air it out this year.

oshfb, the Northwestern link OshDude provided gets it straight from Cerroni.

There's a story in What We're Reading on the front page about UWL spreading it out as well.

Is this a case where conference teams are mimicking Mt. Union in order to beat Whitewater?

I doubt it. Mount Union's strength lies in great personnel and depth.  I think they could play most any scheme they wanted.

I noticed the picture of Perkins Stadium on warhawkfootball.com & the Warhawk players conducting some spring drills...off in the distance behind the visitors bench area, unless my eyes are deceiving me, it appears that the landscape is devoid of any real visitor seating. Does anyone know if there are plans to install new (or at a minumum, old, structurally-sound) bleachers prior to the start of the '09 season?

Nope, we REALLLY don't like the opposing side. They're gonna have to bring their own seats too! :D

I sure hope they replace them.  I hate those stadiums without visitor bleachers when I am the visitor and that has to be really hard at the Perk when we turn out in mass and rock the house.  Besides, the program has worked too hard to have one of the top stadiums in D-3 and that would be a step backwards.  Afterall, if you don't keep spectators across the field from each other, then it just becomes a hockey rink.   ;)

Probably not MUC specifically but the spread did give the Hawks fits on more than one occasion when they came up against it in the play-offs the last several years.  Could be something to this suggestion.  ;)

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

All I can say is it sucks to sit on the same side of the field as the home team. Speaking from experience in last years playoffs. Although WW beating St Johns again......sucked more. Come on make it a real stadium and let the visitors have their own side.

In regards to mimicing MU, well get yourself two Nate Kmics and a Tyrell Pryor and you will be on the right track. That's from the recruiting trail so far. ;D

It sucks just as bad, if not more, for the home teams fans having to sit with the visitors, too.

Two Nate Kmics, huh? Well, time will tell, won't it.  Let's be honest, raiderguy,  Not sure LK knew he had a "Nate Kmic" when the first Nate Kmic showed up on campus.  That kind of player doesn't come around every season.  He and Justin Beaver were in leagues of their own with their combination of incredible football talent, success in the classrom and strength of character.  It just goes to show that a recruiting class maybe an indication of future success but hardly the ultimate one.  Too many variables.  I'll take a solid overall recruiting class over a class with a few, "would-be stars," any day. But you are right about the fact that playing in Virginia sure does have it's pay-offs when it comes to the recruiting trail.  I read the Warhawks coaching staff is going more for quality than quantity this season. Seems they are pretty happy with the players they've already got.   ;)
