In regards to mimicing MU, well get yourself two Nate Kmics and a Tyrell Pryor and you will be on the right track. That's from the recruiting trail so far. ;D
Two Nate Kmics, huh? Well, time will tell, won't it.  Let's be honest, raiderguy,  Not sure LK knew he had a "Nate Kmic" when the first Nate Kmic showed up on campus.  That kind of player doesn't come around every season.  He and Justin Beaver were in leagues of their own with their combination of incredible football talent, success in the classrom and strength of character.  It just goes to show that a recruiting class maybe an indication of future success but hardly the ultimate one.  Too many variables.  I'll take a solid overall recruiting class over a class with a few, "would-be stars," any day. But you are right about the fact that playing in Virginia sure does have it's pay-offs when it comes to the recruiting trail.  I read the Warhawks coaching staff is going more for quality than quantity this season. Seems they are pretty happy with the players they've already got.   ;)

LK knew. ;)

What is more ironic is Nate has stated how intimidated he was when he got to Mount and was doubting himself early on. Doubt on Nate.
One of the kids coming next year was coached by Nate's high school coach so that is the only reason for making the comparison. The other recruit is from IL and he had some game films posted on a recruiting web site. Had similar ability to avoid or go through initial hits and seemed to have good speed. But time will tell. The new AD at Mount is  more pro active about posting recruit info. They are coming from alot of different areas. Ill for example, not an area where we see too many students.

As long as they are restricted to 100 players that will also play into the recruiting mix. A Califonia QB again. Looking for lightning in a bottle?
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Article about WW's Donavan.

http://media.www.royalpurplenews.com/media/storage/paper1225/news/2009/04/15/Sports/Donovan.Hopes.To.Regain.Ncaa.Eligibility-3709684.shtml

Thanks Flash!  Good luck to Donovan in getting his grades back up.  However, I found a WAY more entertaining section in the Royal Purple News with about 30 comments about the conditions of DLK's properties.

Some of these students makes it sound like DLK is holding this kids up in slums rather than apartments.

I think Raiderguy was saying that "Tongue In Cheek".  One of the RBs coming to MUC is from the same general area as Kmic and also has the same HS Coach.  There was an article published about him and he made a comment that "he thinks that MUC wants to use him like they did Kmic."  Maybe someday son, but you have a lot to prove prior to making a comment like that.  :)

Well from the sounds of Royal Purple posters most items on DLK properties shouldn't be touched with a ten foot poll!  *rimshot*

Can't go very far in WW without finding something that DLK has his hands on. This is the gift and the curse of Whitewater and a small scale replica of what goes on in our government with lobbyists and special interest groups.

UWW has gotten their share over the last number of years, especially from the Chicago area, and some of those boys can play!   ;)

Absolutely.  Seems some of the Cali boys can really play too! At least the ones willing to brave the snow.  This one is even more intriguing to me because if the reports are correct, it appears that his relationship with Liepold began in 06 while he was still coaching and recruiting at D-2 Neb-Omaha. Hoping he may be over qualified for the position!   :D

As we all know, the quality of football at the D3 level catches many recruits and freshman by surprise.  Great to be the MVP of your high school team but at the college level, most of them were MVP's  of their high school team.  I know an AA who was told the first day of camp by a recruit that his spot would be taken by the 5th week.  The recruit quit before the end of camp.     ;D

Wasn't there a QB from the Chicago area, who is also a sibling of a former Mount Union star, transferring in to UWW this year...?  I seem to recall reading something about that a few months ago.

I think maybe it is Jason Lewis' little brother.  From the Chicago land area.

Thx kirasdad, that's maybe the one - we'll have to wait and see what develops.

I was incorrect.  It was Matt Blanchard.

Derek Blanchard's little bro becoming a Warhawk?  That makes me smile but also worry for my memory.   It seems I actually commented on the subject back then and I didn't remember the details at all about the MUC sibling. "forsaking the dark side,"  ;) when BoBo mentioned it yesterday.  Could Leipold have a QB controversy on his hands come August???  Sounds like we could be enjoying an abundance of riches at that position this season and for a few seasons to come considering the years of eligibility of a few of these players.

I don't know 413, at this point, with Donovan attempting to regain his academic standing, our QB is Bruce Langer.  Come August, if Donovan is successful in his studies and is reinstated, the transfer from California arrives and the MUC brother, too - I think it's a good problem, provided they all got game, not a controversy. We know what we got in Donovan and Langer.  It'll be interesting to see what these other guys bring with them.  I remember about a year ago a transfer RB (Void) coming to WW was creating a buzz on here...well, we all know where that ended up.  ;)  I will take a wait and see approach from now on when it comes to transfers that are unknown to me.  Although, I hope the kid from California packs deja vu.
