Roocru.... I agree that MHB is out there on their own with a only few other teams......but I remember talking to UWW players during the first two unsuccessful championship runs. Almost all of them said they enjoyed the travel on charter airplanes, staying in nice hotels, and being removed from the pressure of attending classes. They enjoyed playing on the road under those conditions and obviously the result was a positive one. Traveling during the playoffs is totally different than traveling during the regular season. Everyone likes playing at home but during the playoffs playing on the road really isn't that bad at all unless you only have one pair of shoes and you are emotionally unable to accept canon fire like Wesley.......

don't get us started on this again   ::) They just needed a scapegoat from the 58-6 semi final beat down.

That's because the Linfield interlopers like and respect Whitewater, so some of us tend to visit your board from time to time. We still remember THE GAME we played against you as one of the best.

I have to admit to knowing nothing about the NWC prior to our game with Linfield.  But after that game and our most recent contest against Williamette I've come to appreciate just how good the top teams in the league are.

There's nothing to apologize for when you tell the truth.  One symptom that points to the truth of your analysis is that virtually only UWW and MUC (with an occasional Linfield interloper) fans post here anymore.  For the rest of us it's a same old - same old waste of time.

Always welcome on this board, Coco.  THE GAME is still the best game I have ever witnessed, (with one important exception, of course.)     ;)

I wish you guys and Iowa weren't so far away.

Like Texas and SoCal, the NWC is on an island as far as D3 is concerned.

Wonder if the flu will have an impact on the season?

I got a message from someone asking if Beaver received any DI offers prior to UWW. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm sure he didn't b/c of his size. I told him he may have received some DII looks at the very most. but i could be wrong

Anyone in the know have any info on this??

Derek Stanley having a good night for the St. Louis Rams.
Statistics early in the 3rd quarter:
2 catches for 32 yards
20 yard TD catch
1 rush for 5 yds.
2 punt returns for 12 yds (1st fair catch/2nd 12 yard return)

Tonight's performance follows a St. Louis Dispatch column  this week that indicated the 3rd year pro was off to a slow start in the preseason...

Speedy Derek Stanley is trying to earn a job by also becoming the team's return specialist. He remains a work in progress.

"Right now, Stanley is the guy," Devaney said. "Derek has to do a better job than he did in New York (during the preseason opener). His decision-making has to be better."

Beav had no D1 scholarship offers coming out of Palmyra-Eagle High School.  As far as his size was concerned - La Crosse passeed on him saying he was too small.  Bad, bad, mistake.  Justin played six games against UWL during his career. His statistics weren't too bad for a running back considered by some as "too small."
6 game stats vs. La Crosse:
161 carries foor 998 yards and 5 TDs

coco

Bet those TDs were a lot more fun for him than the La Crosse coaches who passed on him. Nearly 1000 yards in 6 games is amazing. Man, that guy was fun to watch.

Passing on Beaver was a mistake all right. What other factors have cotributed to WW's recent dominance of the WIAC ?

Here is a non-football question for the WIAC crowd:

Is the Mustard Museum really moving out of Mt. Horeb or is that just another one of their jokes?  A couple brews at the Grumpy Troll and a stop at the Mustard Museum to pick up my tailgating condiments are musts when I'm in SW Dairyland.  Brats aren't the same without some of that hotter than hell jalapeno pepper mustard.  :o

Defensively River Falls will be better than they were a year ago, with a number of experienced players returning.  Offensively River Falls will have to replace a few key positions, i.e.-QB, C, WR.  Look for the Falcons to be more balanced on O than they were a year ago, with more receivers getting touches.  I feel River Falls will win more than 3 games this year!  I believe the Sept 5 game with SJU will be very compettitive, as the last two meetings have been, especially the 2007 game when RF lead 10-0 at halftime.

But the "Johnnie Premium" price?

That is a refereice to the extra charge for parking for anyone with a MN plate on their car when we were at River Falls two years ago. It's all about sportsmanship. Opps that only happens ON THE FIELD! :o

I found this on another post board it shows all the DIII schools on a US Map

Just something cool to look at. It's amazing with the amount of clusters in the Midwest and throughout the Northeast, compared to the rest of the country

you can click and play around with it to zoom in..

Good stuff, enjoyed the lay of the land so to speak. It will be a haul to Oshkosh next year, plus a week later on the start of the season.

Considering that the Johnnies lead D-3 in attendance year in and year out, some might just call it good business!  ;)   ;D

Yes, the mustard museum is moving to Middleton, Wi.  However I have heard that the move has been delayed due to some damage that happened to the building they were moving into in Middleton.
