I think it'd be 1-1 against Whitewater. They beat them in the 2002 season. Congrats to WW.

Great game WW. Hopefully we meet again next year and decide to show up to play for more than 1 quarter. SJU definitely owes you a game, too bad they didn't bring it with them this year. Kudos WW, take it all the way!

Go COBBERS!!!

SJU09

Johnnies got stomped today, turnovers are no excuse, the better team won.  Best of luck the rest of the way.

WW 34 - SJU 7

Finally the Johnnies have been silenced!  Lets all go read through their posts over the last week and laugh.  Good job WW, you looked really good, probably could've been worse then 34-7.

Major props to the Warhawks
May you go on to win it all

I believe that game would be described as a Monkey Stomp!    :o

I posted this on the MIAC board, but it's worth putting here too to show how impressive the WW win was (and I'm an SJU fan). The Johnnies just haven't been blown out in the last 15 years, with the exception of two games against Mount. Here are their year by year losses. It's SJU's worst loss since 1993. Congrats. Although I don't know about it being lucky it wasn't worse. SJU had three missed chances inside the 10 that could have obviously made it closer. But the result is what it is.

These are their losses since 1991:
91: 19-7 in playoffs against Dayton (wasn't that a turnover debacle game as well? Like 10 or something.)
92: 15-12 against STU.
93: 56-8 against Mount
94: 27-26 against Hamline and 19-16 against Albion in national semis.
95: 24-21 against St. Olaf.
96: 37-30 against Lacrosse (after being up like 30-8).
97, the 6-4 season: 25-21 against Bemidji, 31-27 against STU, 24-16 against Gustavus, 20-10 against Augsburg.
98: 10-7 against Eau Claire in playoffs.
99: 24-20 against Bethel and 19-9 against Pacific Lutheran (after leading in fourth quarter).
2000: 43-36 against Bethel, 10-7 against Mount.
2001: 25-10 against E.C., 35-14 against Mount.
2002: 28-21 OT against E.C., 41-34 against Trinity.
2004: Three losses by total of five points.

Blugold45:

Apparently the SJU team that dominated our Blugolds this year on the field and statistically wasn't the one that showed up today...

Funny how my karma took an immediate dive when I posted that if that SJU team, which won 35-28 vs. UWEC, showed up against the Whitewater team that I watched dominate the Blugolds, they would lose to the Warhawks...

Jeez, someone noted SJU didn't have much trouble against the WIAC's second-place team this year, too. So, I guess I will throw them a bone for this year at least; I'll give them the #2 spot in the WIAC conference standings....

Keep it rolling Warhawks!!!

WW anouncers say how excited the WW coach was to finally play St. Johns in Whitewater.  I guess he has been trying to play the Johnnies at home for years now and Gags keeps backing down.

Gosh, bulk19 -- since it was 1-0 before the game, it's too bad an SJU fan like sjury had to come on and do the math for you.

Interesting choice of words.

Doh. Good one.

Wasn't so much he had to do the math, though. More like research...

So, that would make it a big L today for SJU then???

"For Crissakes," he implored his players, "take your helmets off!"  "Only sissies play with helmets", Gags 2002

Huge, huge loss. The '93 game was similar to this in terms of turnovers, but thatnfully WW didn't need to leave the sprinklers going the night before the game. That was after it rained all week in Ohio too. God, I've never seen a mud bowl turnoverfest like that one...
