With how the last two games between UWW and UWS have gone, Stout can keep the UWW offense in check.  I am not as worried about UWW as I know if UWS plays like they can, they can win the game.  Stout needs to finish their plays and drives and I think they can give them a run for their money.

Not sure I know where to begin and not sound patronizing (I don't mean to )...but, here goes.  Not much, if anything, went right today for Stout. Did you see the game with Stevens Point last week? If so, what did Stout do on defense against the Pointers, holding them to only a TD, that they were unable to do today against the Warhawks? From the little banter coming out of Menomonie in the past few days, I was expecting a much more solid defensive effort today. That didn't happen.  badgerwarhawk referred to Donovan not playing last year.  As good as he's looked today -- & all year for that matter --  I simply have a hard time believing that he is the biggest reason for the different outcome this year.  Your thoughts?

Congrats to Jeff Schebler. If the Johnnies had someone half as good, they would have had some laughers this year.

...maybe even the last 4 years, too!!   :-\    ;)

Ok,ok, just kidding (but it IS funny you have to admit).  For the record and for those of you who take such jesting far too seriously: I respect St. John's and always have. They seem to always have a good defense, they are well coached, and they find a way to win. They ARE in a lot of close games, aren't they?

My congrats to Jeff, also. A great kid and a great kicker.

As for UWW, it seems like they are playing scary good right now. If I am reading warhawkfootball.com correctly, today UWW faced the sixth ranked overall defense in the nation and scored 6 out of the first 7 times they had the ball! And the defense has been lights out all year!

Wow Blue Devils... last year I rememeber the stats/score being SLIGHTY closer! I didn't get to watch the game since I am in Boston, but was it just WW's O that controlled the game or what? ???

tervy65...+k welcome to the WIAC board -- both sides of the ball were controlled by UWW. No surprise, they've been doing it all year.

Congrats to the Warhawks this week.  Dominating effort to say the least from what I heard on the radio.  I definitely think it sounded as if the Warhawk o-line kept the Devil D at bay.  Stats are much different this year compared to the past few.  I am convinced and will be one of the first to say, good luck in your annual playoff run UWW.

I believe that is true.  It could have easily been 7 out of 7.  Remember Cory Robinson falling down on the pass route at the Stout 18 with the ball already in the air.  Adam Churchhill returned it 74 yards to the WW 8.  At that point, everything Donovan was tossing was finding a receiver in white, except that one -- I think everyone knew the Warhawks were going to score (I sure did).  The other two times WW had the ball late in the 4th quarter, the second team fumbled and punted.

UWEC gets in the win column w/ a "W" on Homecoming over Platteville, 34-26. Golds trailed, 23-14 late 3Q, but rallied. Brett Schreiner had two big catches. P-ville fumbled twice and lost them both in 2nd Half.

By the way, Bruins gets my vote for best "D" player we've seen this year. His motor never quits.

BoBo and bleedpurple get +k from me for their good natured jibes. You're right to point out that if we didn't consider our respective teams worthy of respect, we wouldn't put an effort into our banter.

I do have a question though, I know the WIAC is considered the toughest conference, but it seems as though the gap has grown between UWW and the rest of the conference. It goes without saying that the Warhawks have gotten better, but are the rest of the teams geting worse? I'm too lazy to look at the non-conference record, but am I full of crapola on this (too), or might that be the case.
Actually, I am going to look at the NC results now, but is it worth pondering?

I was watching the UWW/Stout webcast yesterday with the computer hooked up to the TV.  I muted the volume at half time and left the room.  When I returned, I realized that Blue Devil Bob is on the screen standing on the field with several others in some recognition ceremony.  I turn the volume up just in time to hear the announcer call out his name and congratulate him.  What did I miss?  I am guessing it may have had something to do with his being such a great supporter and booster of the Blue Devil program.  Whatever it was, I am sure it is richly deserved and my hearty congrats to a great guy!  Congrats, BDB!  You looked very handsome on TV, I must say!  Who says the camera adds 10 lbs?    ;) :D ;D

A couple of times last year I said there were some of us who thought this year's team would be even better than the one we fielded last year.   While things are still a long way from being settled so far that observation is looking spot on.   But we can't rest on our laurels.  There are still good teams to face and we need to keep the focus solely on the next opponent.

No surprise that you wouldn't toot your own horn so after much research, I will do it for you.  Congrats on a much deserved honor.

BlueDevil Bob -- seriously, well done on the acknowledgement of your unselfish contributions to the UW-Stout athletic community. After reading the recognition bio on the Stout website, I must say I'm very impressed with your committment to the Blue Devils, UW-Stout and DIII athletics as a whole -- I hope it inspires others into action, and follow the examples you obviously care about.

Like fbf413, I too watched the video provided by the Stout athletic department -- I had the sound turned off so I could listen to the UWW broadcast. I missed the half-time event as I was making breakfast for my family before we went off to church service.  I am sending off an email to them expressing my thanks & feedback for providing that service to us online viewers.  It was very much appreciated.
