Found an interesting stat while reviewing this week's WIAC press release. I was looking at the WIAC Coaching Records and only three coaches have winning records in the WIAC.

Leipold (UWW) 17-1
Terry (UWL) 44-23
Miech (UWSP) 98-56-1

P'Grady (UWRF) is right at .500, while Glaser (UWEC) is one game under

02 Warhawk,

What is the consensus on the UWW vs. UWSP game this week? Will it be
a blow-out or a closer game than many expect? Is this UWW's last test
before the playoffs?

Most everyone here will agree that Whitewater will win, and is the favorite saturday. However they will have to face the best WR the WIAC has to offer, along with one of the better QB's in the conference. I believe Donovan is slightly better than Beckwith this year. UWW has enjoyed (and hung onto) comfortable leads every game thus far, but this one might be a bit closer.

They do have another tough game later this year, Whitewater will close out the regular season at UW-LaCrosse (our rival).

just my opinion....

Will there be a fan bus going up to Point this week from UWW?
Yes, contact information can be found here.....http://www.warhawkfootball.com/newswire.asp

I'm going to be on the bus, going to see the game - Yee-hah!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Sorry for the repitition there Bobo.

Of course Id rather not go through Alliance before Salem. Given the choice Id take going to UWW and liking our odds better there. Not a slam by any means to the Warhawks, great team that handled us pretty easily in 05, but that was 4 years ago. Id like another shot ;)

Definitely going to be interested in the outcome of UWSP vs UWW this weekend.

Actually this might be the year you might want to try Alliance. Warhawks look pretty unbeatable with all they brought back. The Raiders are not as strong as in years past. However it is a tough place to get a win. It will be interesting to see how all this works out. One game at a time.  ;)

Gotta beat you both to get to where we want! :)

Ill be cheering for UWW, but not in a blow out, feel free to make it close!

Bobo, why aren't you busting PointSpecial's chops about the dates listed in his signature line.  At least mine didn't go back farther than 20 years!!!

I usually enjoy the playoff dialogue but the Point game is upon us.....seems a little premature. I agree the Warhawks could be better than ever but they still have to beat Point which they have not been great at since we became Warhawk supporters 7 years ago. Pound the Rock boys ......

Ah, yes, but this year we have the, "revenge factor," .............. something this team has only had against the Mount for the last 4 years!   ;) :D ;D

Way too much playoff/seeding talk for me to feel comfortable.   We still have three tough conference opponents to beat.  We could lose anyone of those if we don't bring our A game.

It's likely that our guys will have a little additional motivation to avenge our loss to Point last year.  Unfortunately, with one exception, it hasn't helped us much with Mount Union.

Interesting Posts:

While I agree it is still to early to speculate about the seeding in the playoffs and who goes where, here is my $.02 for the (what is worth category)

1. Both Mount and UWW win their conferences.

2. Mount gets moved to the east (again), they will win that region.

3. UWW goes North and faces tougher opposition ( maybe a North Central)
    for example.

4. Linfield controls the West over SJU

5. Based upon UWW's great number of players back and their play
this year ( thru 7 games UWW and Mount's numbers are about egual).
Let's not think Mount is really that down this year, but UWW may have
    the edge so far.

6. Playing at Mount for the playoffs is the toughest place to win.

7. If  Mount and UWW reach the Stagg Bowl, it will be a close
3-4 pt win for the winner. The first odds for that game may be UWW
by 3-4 based upon what we know today.

8.  If either team loses one of their final season games, go back to #6.

9. Having said all that the UWW/ UWSP will be a good game, but Mount
has a score to settle with Otterbein based upon Otterbein's pregame
antics from last year and their new QB's bulletin board comments this year.
It will not be quite as close as many may think in this one.

Let's beat a dead horse here, for what it's worth:  Just heard from one of the RF coaches that John O'Grady got an email apology from Coach Leipold for his team's attempts to score in the last two minutes. I left before that happened, so did not mention it in my post after the game.

I give Coach L. kudos for that. Sometimes the coach is not in control.

Riddle me this BoBo. If I was  "Know your facts before making silly, childish accusations.", why in the world would LL email an apology to O'Grady?

Any Chance the NCAA matches up the East and the North in the National Semifinals (possibly MUC vs. UWW) this year giving another school a chance to make it to Salem?

I wouldn't bet on it. That would be something the men's basketball committee would do.

Do they seed the Bracket #1s so that 1 is matched up to play 4 and 2 is matched to play 3 in the Semis if they all get there?

I mentioned before that you would be a classier coach than I would, what more do you want?

If there was an email  ~ this is one of those heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend kind of things ~ the only thing it proves is that LL is getting very prolific at sending email apologies.  If he really meant it, he'd send a Hallmark card and flowers, maybe throw in a big box of chocolates for the members of the River Falls defense & fans traumatized by the last 1:27 seconds of last weeks game.

I doubt it, dont see any reason to do that until someone can beat either of those teams. Although if either team stumbles in the last few weeks of the season I could see that scenario working out. West vs North or however it would end up being.
