Voice's birthday is Sunday, so if you see him at the game Sat. wish him a Happy Birthday!

Don't tell anyone he's going to be 58.  ;D
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Wildcat,

I see from your Avatar you found Linfield's defense! Where was it hiding Saturday when it didn't show up giving up 36 points to Puget Sound?

The defense was hiding in one DLK's rundown apartments in Whitewater.  They did try to hide out in the UWW weight room but they didn't have their ID cards.
Wow, I get busy for a few days with life's challenges and you boys get into a battle..................and bring out all the heavy artillary.   ;) ::) ???

After the classic battle in the Catdome in 05, nothing but complete and utter respect should, (and does, I believe, ) exist between these two programs and their fans.  No one who has been paying attention would diss the Cats, especially BW!

I'm with you 100% 413 but couldn't let that post from bleed go without some sort of retort.  Thankfully after my reply he didn't have a response that was worthy for me to keep it going.   ;)

WIAC in today's triple take:

Team's most likely to clinch saturday...

Keith's take: "UW-Whitewater. Of the nine or so teams that have a chance to clinch on Saturday, none really have easy games. I think most of them will clinch, with an upset or two sprinkled in, but it's not easy to anticipate just where those upsets will come. So when in doubt, lean on the team least likely to be upset. Normally that'd be Mount Union, but I'll pay Otterbein some respect and say Whitewater will get it done against UW-Oshkosh. Way out on a limb picking a team outscoring it's competition 41-7, on average, I know."

Just because I don't feel like working right now...here are the past 6 yrs results for UWO against UWW:

Oct. 13, 2007   L   26-14 Whitewater
Sept. 23, 2006 L   17-3 Oshkosh
Oct. 29, 2005   L   36-7 Whitewater
Nov. 6, 2004    L   22-16 (OT) Oshkosh
Nov. 8, 2003    L   34-6 Whitewater
Nov. 16, 2002  W  21-20 Oshkosh

Osh D struggled against the UWEC O last week but the Osh O was able to light up the scoreboard as well. Unfortunately Osh lost in the shootout. Hopefully the D gets back to their usual ways and the offense keeps rolling against UWW.

I've heard this might be UWW's closest game of the year...we'll see if Whitewater can slow down the running back of yours  :P

Happy birthday to Voice...and happy birthday to me (mine is tomorrow also)! I bought myself a Warhawk mini-helmet at the game today. I didn't know they were even available. I wish there were stuffed Willy Warhawks available. Can someone in marketing get on that?  ;)

About the game, the Warhawks really shut down the Titan passing game (except for the fluke tip pass 75 yard TD at the end). I was expecting a better passing attack from Oshkosh. It was somewhat ironic that Coppage breaks the long TD run when the offense goes into the no-huddle hurry-up like Oshkosh was running.

Curious as to why Rusch was not dressed for the game. His absence was felt on punt returns.

Before the game I thought this might be a trap game seeing how it was sandwiched between the Point and Lacrosse games. But the Hawks didn't lose focus.

Congrats to the WIAC champs for five straight years!

UWEC 27, UWL 17, on senior day in EC...

What looked like it could very well be a long, long day for the 'Golds turns out well...

UWL goes up 10-0 after one, in what was one of the most unimpressive quarters of football played by the Blugolds in a long time... Eagles, with all the mo and confidence, start the second quarter at their own four, and go on what could have been a back-breaking drive = five minutes, 14 plays and 89 yards, for a potential 17-0 lead. And then it would be turn Reid Oldenburg loose for the rest of the day on a much-maligned Blugold run D...

But UWL fumbles, and on the first play after the turnover, Golds go airborne and get a 93-yard TD pass. Suddenly there's life, and its 10-7... That's how it is at half...

Golds get a TD to make it 14-10, and then drive down the UWL's 9, but line up for a FG... Fake is pulled, as holder pitches to Cory Sartorelli, who comes up short of the end zone but gets a first. He then scores on a short run, but misses the PAT. 20-10, UWEC, after 3...

On its first possession of the 4th, UWL scores on a nifty 18-yard Oldenburg scamper, second TD of the day for him. Game on, 20-17...

Teams then trade two punts each, until UWEC gets the ball back on its own 20 with 6:35 left, looking to run some time... They use up four minutes to march down to UWL's 45 and face a 4th and four...

So they pooch kick it, and down it at the one, leaving the Eagles two minutes to go 99 yards, with no timeouts, for a tying FG or winning TD, right?

NOPE! UWEC fakes the punt - holder was a high school QB, heh, heh - and they get a 45-yard TD pass play to salt it away... Awesome...

EC's special teams gets the game ball today... Kyle Paulson is the second best QB in the league; he stuck his nose in there twice on two crucial first-down runs on the team's final drive before the fake FG...

UWL dinked and dunked, had a lot of pass plays underneath, but UWEC's D did not bend... Travis Bordeau had a nice day for the Eagles, 11 catches for 134 yards... But UWL had three critical turnovers and shot themselves in the foot today; they got into the red zone several times and came away with nada...

Thanks to the Blugold seniors, who go out with a W after their final home game from Carson Park... Thanks, too, to the band, poms, cheerleaders, trainers, stadium personnel, statisticians, vendors, etc., who made their final appearances as seniors, too. They make things happen off the field whilst we enjoy the action on the field. Thanks to the Eagles seniors, too...

UWEC (5-4, 3-3) finishes the season at UWRF. UWL (5-4, 2-4) hosts the Warhawks...
