I will speak for coco, he was not joking at all.

It is obvious to both of us MUC and UWW are both stoking the boiler and when the clearing sound of those railway hounds is heard upon the land, most will step out of the way.

Hey Bobo,

I watch JB's run on your Avatar every time you post! Don't change it, it was my favorite run ever! It's classic what he did to Ely at the end of the run. But what is up with #37? I watched him the last few times and he was just running alongside Beaver. It looks like he had no interest in having happen to him what happened to Ely.  At one point it looked like he actually angled AWAY from the play.

I'm guessing that's why #3 blocked #37 in the back after the play was over.  Because he was acting cowardly.  ;)

#37's cowardice cost MUC WAY MORE yards than the block in the back so many like to cite. He would have escorted Justin into the end zone had not Ely showed enough courage to get knocked on his butt!

I guess some teams are just a BIT more physical than others! The Bluedevil coaches mistake 40 yard dash guys for football players, Stoutguy?

I think it's important to note this, 02 Warhawk, about Keith's "projections" - I put projections in quotations because from my reading of it, I don't think those are his true projections, just having a little fun, as this quote seems to imply:

Quote-- This is by no means what I think will happen; just something I wanted to do to see if it could happen.

People can go to the Pool C thread under General Football to make up their own minds.

Here's Keith's projections as of today. posted on the Pool C board:

"I think I'll make my six Pool Cs be UMHB, St. Thomas, Coe, Wabash, Redlands and LV/Albright (really wanted to do ONU. Maybe next time)

Okay, here's a hastily assembled suggestion:"

1 MUC
8 Union

4 Thomas More
5 Alfred

3 Case Western Reserve
6 MSJ

2 Wittenberg
7 Trine
------------
1 UWW
8 Wabash

4 Ill. Wesleyan
5 DePauw

3 Monmouth
6 Coe

7 St. Thomas
2 Central
-----------
1 Wesley
7 LV/Albright

3 H-SC
8 NCWC/Averett

4 Kean
5 Curry

2 Del Val
6 Johns Hopkins

------------
1 St. John's
8 Conc Ill

3 Miss Coll
6 Hunt

4 Cal Lutheran
5 UMHB

7 Redlands
2 Linfield

Another factor to consider about the brackets this year was brought up on the same thread:

QuoteOne thing to consider is that Dick Kaiser, the chairman of the selection committee for the past couple years, finished his term last year.  When Dr. Kaiser started was when we started seeing brackets built around what they considered the top 4 teams.  I'm hoping the new chair will inject new philosophies and ideas to the group like Dr. Kaiser seemed to.  Perhaps they will think outside the box and bring us some inter-regional brackets like some are hoping.

Congrats to Kendall Wade for being the WIAC Defensice POW.  Go Stout!

and to Jeff Donovan for Offensive POW  Go Warhawks!!

and to Austin Neu for Special Teams POW  Go Eau Claire!!

I think Donovan has probably wrapped up the Offensive Player of Year honors as well, although Coppage and Donovan could be Co-Offensive Players of Year. Going to be an interesting vote.

Special note:  I like how the River Falls long snapper was nominated as the Falcons special team POW - you don't see that too often I bet. Maybe he had a few tackles mixed in with the long snaps. :-\   ;)

Thanks for clearing that up for me.  And, the 40 yd dash, thing, that's really good.  I always find it amusing that this WIAC board can only be used to sing the praises of the Purple.  Justin made a wonderful run, WW is wonderful, and I am just so sorry that I noticed that block in the back after the run was over.  Will the WW faithful ever forgive me?

#37 was Jonah Wilson.  He probably realized he wasn't going to catch Justin and that Ely had more speed and the better angle on Beaver.  Using what he learned in physics or trigonometry, decided it was best to slow down and angle off to his right and give Ely the clean hit on Beaver.  Oops, I guess that wasn't the right thing to do after all!!  ;D :D ;)

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. The hit in the back Mitch Moore placed on Wilson has as wimpy as it gets...probably not even hard enough to knocked you, badgerwarhawk or I down, stoutguy!! The Warhawks did get a penalty and had to settle for a Schebler FG and a 10-0 lead, instead of a 17-0 halfttime lead.

Wow, relax Stoutguy, relax. All you said about Justin's run and UWW being wonderful is true. But no need to apologize. The block in the back was kind of beaten to death earlier. I had never noticed Wilson( per BoBo) escorting Justin for so long. I welcome all WIAC posters! And I am pulling for the Bluedevils to make the playoffs!

I saw that one too later... ::).  Long snappers only seem to get noticed when they screw up. The guy's a senior and probably has been a good team player for the Falcons.  Kudos to the River Falls coaches for puting him in the spotlight.

Whitewater reminds me of a giant freight train, gaining momentum as it roars down the tracks, obliterating everything in its path....

coco, joke all you want, but it's hard to ignore the fact that they've shown remarkable consistency in their scoring this year from both sides of the ball:

UWW 38 DSU 3
UWW 58 MLU 0
UWW 42 UPS 7
UWW 35 UWP 3
UWW 38 UWEC 14
UWW 38 UWS 3
UWW 38 UWRF 14
UWW 41 UWSP 12
UWW 40 UWO 7
UWW ?? UWL ??

I'm interested in your analysis of the WU/UPS game??? ( the scoreboard says 50-6 WU, is that right? UPS 6 first downs, 26 yards passing)...a stunning turn of events in only 7 days. Is this the same UPS that Linfield's defense struggled stopping last weekend? What did I just read from the NWC board, the best 0-8 team in the country, according to some Linfield posters? Any explanation?

I haven't been on the boards for a few days and am just now getting caught up. DenS is right.  I wasn't joking, BoBo -- I was complimenting Whitewater. I see them as a huge unstoppable force that is getting better as the season goes along, rolling over everyone they've played.

As for analyzing the games that Willamette and Linfield played against UPS -- I don't need to do that. You already did it for me. It wasn't our day for defense.
