retagent, I remember back in the day of the old, old Southern Lakes Conference when Whitewater HS was the king of the hill and Walworth Big Foot was a perennial doormat.  I guess times have changed. Good luck to those "native american tribal leaders" at Camp Randall (BTW, has the 'Chief" name and/or mascot been approved for use? I would think they would've changed that name years ago.  :-\  :o;)

Ah yes, the good old days when the beloved Jim Crummy proved that being a GREAT COACH was more than just being organized!  :D

UW-Stout lost to the preseason #2 and by one point to the #7 team.  And still not a top 25 ranking at season end.  That is rediculous.

Who did they beat that makes them a Top 25 team?

How about River Falls, Oshkosh, Eau Claire, Platteville, and La Crosse.  Defend your rankings all you want, Stout would kick the ass of many of your top 25 teams right now.  Old argument, just a fact.  Come on the show Sat.   I promise to be nice.

I really hate to agree with stoutguy, but I do. Dewey for COY while we're at it.

BDB.
That sounds like my senior year at UWW in 1997 the hawks are beating Simpson. Simpson gets some breaks, and end up beating the hawks.
Mr. Voice I graduated in 1997, and my niece is a student at U Dub dub as they call it. Why I am not sure I went to a playoff game with her using the free tickets from DLK as her roommate wasn't going they had free food near the stadium as well then.
Friends of my niece have said that UWW Football is a dynasty and it's a saying some of my friend whoa are also alumni of the great UWW have called it. Something they are proud of as coach Brezowitz started it and coach Leipold has continued it. You could say he walked into a goldmine and has continued to strike it since he took over.
As far as the royal purple coach Leipold incident well it was the last time UWW made national news, and hopefully in a month they will be making more national headlines winning the stag bowl. I also mentioned the water boiler at the power plant exploding. I was just making my point that these are what have been in the national news about UWW lately and one was weird, i.e. the water boiler at the power plant, and one was just sad i.e. the royal purple incident.
Like my friends say UW-Whitewater football Dynasty something all UW-Whitewater alumni can be proud of.

Can't wait for playoff football. It is going to be fun and cold but worth it to get free tickets from DLK aka Mr. Whitewater as we know him in our little click of friends and we plan on making another trip to Salem and get the Warhawks on national news, and not for the head football coach cussing out a student newspaper writer or a water boiler blowing up. Because the Hawks are going to WIN the national title this year.
How do you define dynasty= UW Whitewater warhawk football

New poster??   Warhawkbabe sure sounds a lot like our old friend Sean O'Reilly.  Unfortunately most of Warhawkbabe's information is hooey!  Free tickets to UW-W students will not be happening this year.  Instead - free food will be provided in the Coulthart Pavillion.  The Royal Purple incident is ancient history, capable of being an episode on the History Channel.  Bygones long ago became bygones!   One other thing - the Warhawk football program has never referred to itself as a DYNASTY.   Sean - if you are Warhawkbabe - I hope you realize just how asinine you come across on this message board.   Don't be bitter - be happy! ;D :D

Oh, ya!
In two posts we have had the telltale signs, trotting out all the old dirty laundry, backhanded, "compliments," of the program and university, name dropping of Coach Brez and swipe at Leipold, mentioning DLK and his support as well as the ever present, overblown claims of a football dynasty.   Got to admit, he does seem to have figured out how to use spellcheck.   ??? ::)

The Big Foot HS trophy case contains a pair of Shaq O'Neil's shoes.  I think they're size 22 or 23.  At any rate they fit a big foot.  Ok, I know that was lame.

For the record I'll repeat what Voice had to say recently.  No one involved in the WARHAWK football program refers to it as a "dynasty."  We're having a good run and we hope to continue it as long as possible.  The staff and players work hard to make the program as good as possible.  But, IMO, calling it a dynasty is a tad over the top.

Like I said I have friends from the mid 90's when they started running the zone offense have jokingly called it a dynasty. Okay whatever, I don't know everything about d3 college football but Mount Union has won how many consecutive conference titles outright???? Whitewater had won three in a row until last year's maybe it's not a dynasty but when you continually make it to the championship game your university is doing something right.
I know a lot of alumni who were involved in the football program as athletic trainers, student coaches, and players, and they all continually get letters from the program saying that they are part of the program. So in a way I guess people who are involved in the Warhawk football program are calling it a dynasty. Of course they are doing that so they can get money. As I have found out when people are looking to fundraise they will take money from anyone no matter how involved directly or indirectly they were involved.
Okay enough about all that here is to the Warhawks Monkey stomping Lakeland like they have the previous three times that they have played 2005, 2006,2007.

I'm calling Bull**** here.

You try to come across as some casual fan that just happened to go to a play off game with some friends on "free" tickets.

But.. all of the sudden you know that WW started running the zone offense in the mid 90's.

I played at WW in the late 80's to early 90's and everyone I played with and know does not call WW a dynasty or DLK  "Mr Whitewater"  yes I still get letters from the athletic dept. asking for money but so does every former player,  it's called an alumni database and they have been doing that for a long time just like most schools.  I'm pretty sure that I know more people connected to the Warhawk program than you.  I know Lance personally so I would knock it off with the backhanded comments about him too.

your "guess" about everyone calling UW-W a dynasty is way off,  the only person calling it a dynasty is YOU.

BoBo

Anybody know if a video stream of Lakeland/UWW will be available on Sat? I know in past seasons, video was provided thru Penn Atlantic for playoff games. I couldn't find any info on UWW's football website. I've been watching on-line this year on the VLC and listening to the guys on radio on the GOM player with only a slight delay. It would be nice if it was available again.

Let me say how impressed I am with people like bw and 413 in your responses to whbabe. You seem to have grown into the status where you can be proud of what you've accomplished, but realistic as well.  No, not a dynasty, but a "perennial power" may be the right moniker.

One of the reasons we like Bigfoot HS, is the fact that they haven't changed to a more PC nickname. I'm not connected enough to know if they have gotten a "blessing" to use Chiefs, but I seem to recall that they have.

Another fun WIAC season.  I am glad that my Blue Devils are back on the right track.  Still cannot believe no love for the club from the rest of the D3 community.  I guess a long off-season is in order while the Warhawks have another half of a season to go.  I am sure this helps each year take the program up a level.  Congrats on another great season to UWW and take the Stagg this year.

Congratulations to the Blue Devils on a great season I wish they would have made the playoffs. I am convinced they would have beaten a good part of the field. However, with two losses, it's usually a long shot. I got lit up a bit on the OAC board because I actually said UW Stout was the conference runner up. Some folks over there felt like ONU (a 2 loss team in the OAC) REALLY deserved to go. So i drew a comparison to UW Stout. The Blue Devils  SEEMED like the second best team to me so I forgot about Point. Oh well.

For the record, with all of the expertise of one that has seen UW-Stout play once and ONU play zero times, UW STOUT WOULD ROCK ONU HEAD TO HEAD!   ;D

Great job Stout.

To your credit at least you are consistent. Once again pontificating a point without out any back-up at all. With only the coaches poll with ONU #13 in the country against a team that received 4 votes and having seen ONU on tv and not seeing Stout at all, ONU would give a stout football lesson to UW Stout if the opportunity ever occured this year. And Stout is my favorite WIAC team! ;D

Finally we found a D3 guy who actually LIKES the BCS arrangement! I love it Raiderguy! You rip me for having an opinion on something with "no-back up" and then cite a POLL! That's beautiful! How many of the coaches that vote have seen UW Stout play? I'm sure you would love the D3 season to be over and the coaches could just declare Mount the National Champions. Unfortunately, for Mount of 09, it doesn't work that way!  ;)
Now I am not sure how you take my comment into the BCS but so be it. Makes about as much sense as some of your other comments. Yes, I will take the opinions of 25 coaches that may or may not have seen ONU over your "expertise" in forming MY OPINION that ONU would job Stout if they ever met this year which they will not.
AS FAR AS DECLARING MOUNT NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.....I BELIEVE WE KNOW BETTER THAN MOST HOW THAT IS ACCOMPLISHED! THAT ACTUALLY MAY BE SOMETHING WE CAN BOTH AGREE ON? ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

UW-Stout lost to the preseason #2 and by one point to the #7 team.  And still not a top 25 ranking at season end.  That is rediculous.

Who did they beat that makes them a Top 25 team?

Pat,
I love what you do for small time college football.  This is a great site and the best source for news in D3 Football.  Having said that, I will respectfully disagree with your thought process above.

Who did Monmouth beat?  Who did St. Thomas beat?  Who did North Central and Ohio Northern beat?  I am not going to say Stout can/cannot beat these teams, but these teams did not beat anyone great.

Secondly, Stout did beat two teams that were ranked in your preseason poll.

We all know that the WIAC has been consistantly named the best/strongest conference and this is why a team with two conference losses should be listed on your prestigous website.   Let's be honest, the WIAC should have more than one team ranked in the top 25 especially since that team is #2 in your poll.
