They were the biggest offensive line we had faced all year," Eash indicated following Saturday's game. "We went into the game a little worried that they might wear us down."

That's great, the IWU coach can look at the puny numbers of the Whitewater o-line and think they can run all over them. :D

There's more to a successful o-line than just a bunch of big bodies - that's kind of what 02 Warhawk was driving at IMO. Stevens Point this year went like this 6-6/300, 6-5/295, 6-3/328, 6-1/310, 6-4/285 across their front line - my limited math skills tells me that's big, something like a 6-4/304 avg. They were also on the short end of a 41-12 score.  :'(

Putting out Wabash stats doesn't really impressive anyone around these parts since the quarterfinal game of 12/01/07.  We know what Wabash is and isnt'.

Only time will tell, but I'd take this UWW o-line over any other. Every defense they go up against knows what to expect, but they haven't been able to shut them down. The major penalties need to be kept to a minimum, too - anyone know where the officials are coming from? - I fear the MIAC or IIAC.

Anyway, I really do hope IWU lives up to some of their national rankings and accolades and we have a decent ball game. Honestly, I don't expect it - but I hope they do. I get up at 3am to watch and frankly, I'm getting tired of watching blow out after blow out, week in and week out in the middle of my beauty sleep time.  ;)  :D

Hey Bobo,

Maybe you need more sleep than you admit! I am pretty sure TItan Q was directly answering an assumption by warhawk 02 about the size of the wabash line. I didn't see any stats quoted or opinions on the relative strength or power of wabash vs UWW. 02 simply incorrectly assumed the UWW line was physically BIGGER than Wabash, which pretty clearly isn't true and Q pointed that out.

I do need more beauty sleep USee and you'd know that if you saw me.  ;) ;D

After correcting Q's numbers, they are pretty clearly similar.

BoBo, as much as you're trying to wish it true, you won't find any quotes from IWU's head coach (or me) about being able to "run all over" the Warhawks.

As far as how close the game will be, over on the CCIW board I said I have the line at 24...so I'm not expecting too close.

PS  My height/weight figures are from UW-Whitewater's roster.  Where are yours from?  (Did I find the wrong roster?)

The numbers I got are from warhawkfootball.com, which I indicated with the * in my reply. The roster where you quoted from usually has many errors.  I don't think they ever make corrections to that roster for one reason or another.

Amen.  UW-W's SID makes all kinds of mistakes all the time and not just limited to the roster.

If the IWU coach was truely impressed by the Wabash line (and not just giving them the typical coach-speak compliment), this one will be over early.  Whitewater's line is dominant and has been battle tested.  Wabash?  Not so much on either count.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Again, all IWU head coach Norm Eash said was:

"They were the biggest offensive line we had faced all year."

Folks, I'm 100% sure everyone associated with Illinois Wesleyan football knows all about UW-Whitewater...including how dominant the offensive line is.

Pat Coleman

This has been a hilarious conversation.

Norm Eash knows all about UW-Whitewater indeed -- he's been on the NCAA committee for a few years now so he has had plenty of chances to see the Warhawks in person.

Good luck to both teams and no injuries.  I wish Wabash could be there but it was not to be.  We played hard and were one throw light.  So be it.  Enjoyed the Whitewater fans and hospitality when we were there.  Unless things have changed (which I believe they have not) IW will have to play the best game of their year iin order to make the game competitive.  I hope they do ... but I think the Warhawks would still win.  If they stumble, the score will be a wide spread.  Here is hoping for a fun close game.

Is the game streamed?  If so what is the site?

BoBo--I should have chosen my word more carefully. I really can't think of an example of "grandiose comments." Perhaps I'm just jealous that nobody could justly accuse any RF poster of grandiose comments about the Falcons.

Congrats on another WW win.
