Awesome! The warhawk D will cover The Haze like an average d3 receiver? Cover Casey Allen like he is a 4.7 guy? Why don't they just give the 'cats 14 pts and then cover them like the all-americans they are?
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Allen plays like burnoski except he is considerably more physical.  All of the subtleties are the same, but Allen's burst out of a cut is impressive.

Given I got to practice against Burnoski for 4 years and learned his moves pretty well but I'd say Allen is better.  It might just be the qb throwing to him though.

Just a question for the UWW faithful-- I'm not accusing them of running up the score (because we were handing you points by the end!), but was there any reason why Beaver was playing in the 4th quarter?  The game was well in hand, SJU kept putting the ball on the turf or shooting themselves in the foot, so why do you play and continue handing the ball off to your all-WIAC (and probably, all-region) running back?

I really didn't want him to get hurt and ruin your chances against Linfield, but I thought that was about the only mistake UWW made all day.  Am I missing something?

Too bad we posters are not playing the game.   ;D

esq-not the first time that question has been asked this year, mostly by WW faithful. No answer has been given, and it sure beats the hell out of me. We have left the qb in longer than I would like too, but I certainly am not questioning the coaching staff. They must have their reasons.

I know. Unfortunately for Linfield, I think the ww coaches probably see the wr matchups differently.

I guess 50+ career TD receptions still doesn't get you any respect. I hear Elliott is playing safety this week and will be assigned as a spy to Beaver.

OLDPA...you're not the only one...I too wonder sometimes why the starters are in as long as they sometimes are.  Guess they have to get some work in to keep sharp.

And OCC99, it isn't polite to spy on the beaver!

you speak of the speed of Linfields WR? From what i have read about your best WR #8 the NFL scouts have timed him running a 40 at 4.67.  If this is accurate, Elliot is really making them look really good.  I truely think Elliot is that good, but the rest of the team is a normal d3 football team that has the capability of being beat.  I am sure this will be a great game and i am saving my perdictions until i have watched more film on Linfield, i think 35-14 is a little lopsided.  Good luck to all

This has to be wrong, three3s.  UWW has a couple of LB's that can run that! :D  And just a reminder, Linfields D Secondary will have their work cut out for them as well.

This is very true they have the best two receivers the cats have faced  this season.  #2 is a stud  but on the other hand this will be the best DB's the Birds with not feather have face as well. ;D

Makes for a great game..

After futher review the line will move just  a bit  Cats 31,  ww 14. ;)

WW fans--don't be fooled by Allen.  He caught about 5, 4 yd passes and turned them into 10-15 yd gains.  He is very good, has great speed, and can burst into overdrive in a second.  Be careful.  He by no means is average, he is well above average.

How fast is Beaver?  4.5??

three3s

I was not saying that Casey was not a good WR. I was commenting about the speed of the WR's. "Eagle" I do recall the Lacrosse game last year and Scott did roast us a little, but if you ask him about Mexico he will tell you it never happened again.  I tip my hat to him though Scotty is really good. The 40 yd dash time that I got on Casey was on the NFL draft page, he must have run for some scouts last year or something.  I just got out of the film room and I must say that I am impressed with the schemes, execution, and killer instinct that they posses.  Elliot is a really good QB, and I wish him the best at the next level.   I can say with certainty that the Cats will not score 31 pts on this "D".  My prediction will come tomorrow after another day of film.

When I said that the team was just another D3 team, I was categorizing them with the likes of a St. Johns or Mt. Union. They are good but don't have the capability of playing at the higher levels. Not all but most of them have reached their athletic potential (not like Elliot)

three3s

Beaver runs about a 4.5-4.55 range not that fast but very shifty, sort of like Casey from what I see. ;)

You must be one amazing film-watcher if you can asses whether or not players have reached their athletic potential just by seeing a few clips of them. I do not even understand by what you mean by "capable of playing at higher levels". You mean as a team? You mean there are not a whole bunch of future NFL players on the team? What d3 team has a bunch of guys "capable of playing at higher levels"?

Dr. Sparky

In addition to being slow and average, I hear Hazenberg has a club foot, Keck is crossed eyed, and Allen has irritable bowel syndrome, so the Warhawk DBs probably need not worry much.
