This catch by Brandes was incredible.  The pass had interception written all over it but Brandes just lept over the top and snagged it.

Great picture....catch of the game by far!!

Looks even better - larger - fixed for you!

All the photo's posted on JSOnline (photographer Benny Sieu) were very nice.  I'm a defensive guy, so my favorite was this one:

I'm expecting a few more of these this weekend, except the W on the side of the helment being replaced with a snarly-looking 'cat in a sailor hat!!  ;)  ;D

Note to Linfield fans...don't come unless you just want to see how good WW is in person. The game will be over about half time, and WW's subs will be playing the second half. Most of the fans will leave for the bars at half time and watch WW's second team play Linfield about even.

By the sounds of it ... you're still at the bar!

At least in Wisconsin the bars stay open after 9 pm!!  In '05, bartenders couldn't understand why a bar would stay open later than 9 or 10 pm.
I guess that is the difference from growing up in Wisconsin as opposed to the linen napkin, finger sandwich crowd from Oregon.

If you are planning on coming on out to Wisconsin, bring your winter weather clothing....     By the way ... From the National Weather Service:  A WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.  OCCASIONAL LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN BETWEEN 10 AM AND 12 NOON TUESDAY MORNING... AND SPREAD ACROSS THE REST OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN BY 6 PM TUESDAY. RIGHT NOW IT APPEARS SNOWFALL WILL BE HEAVIEST BETWEEN 12 MIDNIGHT AND 8 AM WEDNESDAY... THEN TAPER OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND FLURRIES BY WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 10 TO 13 INCHES WITH THE AXIS OF HEAVIEST SNOW APPEARING TO BE ALONG AND EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM LONE ROCK TO SHEBOYGAN.

Yes that includes the Madison-Whitewater area of the state!

We like to call it:  Warhawk football weather!!

criswyly

Hey, don't you guys have a Zamboni machine....I think the NCAA should move this game indoors.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

criswyly

That's right....I want a level playing field.

02 - having some editing difficulties - I'm still working on the project.  If I don't get the problem rectified, we'll do it again next weekend with my other camcorder.

That wasn't my only problem Saturday.  I was interviewing WIAC Commissioner Gary Karner at halftime on the radio feed.  One problem - I got into the interview, started to introduce him and my mind went blank - I couldn't remember his name - OUCH!!  If there is a pool to pick a media member to win the WIAC's Media Person of the Year I don't think it would be wise to have my name in the pool.

Thanks for talking to the weatherman to provide a real treat to a special group of Wildcats....the members of our team from the 50th state (Hawaii).  We have many team members from the Islands and I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get to show their stuff in the white stuff rather than have all that sand slowing down down their speed.  These student/athletes from the State of Hawaii know how to play football be it in 90 degrees and humid or 20 degrees and snowing!

That's because his primary hang out is the MIAC board but he does remember his Wisky roots and drops in now and again.  He doesn't think we have enough fun over here...........
Well, compared to the MIACer's,.................we don't.   ;)

Results from over the weekend reveal otherwise ~ student athletes in Hawaii don't know how to play the game...University of Wisconsin 51 University of Hawaii 10...in Hawaii weather, too!! For some reason, I don't think the results would have been any better playing in the cold in Madison.

Just curious, & I'm asking this in all seriousness, when was the last time Linfield played a game in 20 degrees and/or snowing weather conditions? I would think not very often.

BoBo Considering that it will be somewhere between 16 and 23 degrees today at the Catdome, I am sure the boys will do just fine.  Oregon gets their share of crisp weather.

Alvarez offered Hawaii $1million to move the game to Madison but they declined.  The UW makes about $2.4 million each home game but only netted about $200K after expenses on the trip to Hawaii.
