Out of curiosity and lack of wanting to look it up myself:
What sort of crowd attendance does WW pull each Saturday?

according to ncaa.com they averaged 5,387 in 2008...2nd to St. Johns who topped 7,000

in 2008 WW would have ranked 75 out of 118 FCS schools in attendance...

this years home game attendance numbers (according to the WIAC website)

Midland Lutheran (NE) 5569
Puget Sound (WA) 4127
UW-Platteville 9157
UW-Eau Claire 4017
UW-River Falls 8169
UW-Oshkosh 5040

forgot to add that this years is then averaging 6000 ish

This week I think 2500-3000 is more realistic
Thank you TUnit.  Very impressive.  Sounds like a great place to play.  Has the crowd numbers always been that high or more so now in the last 5 years with their great success?

And why only 2500 - 3000 this weekend for the semifinal?

Pat Coleman

Like most places, once you make the students pay to get in and the NCAA sets its ticket prices for everyone else, attendance kind of suffers.

Thanks Pat.
Looking forward to listening in on Saturday.

The NCAA did a webcast of the semi-finals last year. Is that true for this year?

I think they should move the game to the Dome they did that one year when PLU played SJU. Or what the heck...move it to the Tacoma Dome.

The WIAC likes that place and has already has won a NAIA national championship there (12/14/85 La Crosse 24 PLU 7)

"The snow was wet, heavy stuff.  If it had been left on the field it would have frozen solid and been near impossible to remove."

Good point....but the snow in Omaha is powder puff dry....must be the Great Lakes kind of snow?
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

criswyly you are in Omaha? if so its nice to know a fellow D3 supporter is around!

and in regards to the attendance...I actually think that we will see it around 5,000 give or take a few hundered...the school is again giving away free tickets to students which is always cool but as a student who got to see 4 straight trips to the stagg bowl...I always enjoyed watching the cold weather games on the campus tv station...they always do a great job and I didn't mind the warm "weather" inside my house!!!

Ahh....memories of the T-Dome.  Site of one of my favorite games (beating UPS in front of 14000+ to open the '83  season), greatest debacles (losing the '83 national championship to Northwestern of Iowa after leading by ten in the 4th Q), and the end of my playing career (flopping around on the turf with a torn ACL vs. UPS in '84).

Looks like the start of a beautiful day over Perkins Stadium. Of course the home side is basking in sunshine while the visitor side is naturally in darkness, but changing quickly  ;)  Current temp -2 degrees F (WC -19 F) with an anticipated high of 7 degrees F.
