I want to add my congrats to UW-LC woman's gymnastics team on their National title! An amazing accomplishment!  I also want to send my congrats out to the UW-W Warhawk's woman's gymnastic team and their coaching staff for their 3rd place national finish and to Justine Weyer who finished her senior year as the 2010 National Vault Champion.  My daughter was a terrific club gymnast from the time she was very young and the time, effort, dedication, courage and physical challenges that this sport demands of its athlete's are incredible.  She was in the gym anywhere from 16-20 hours a week, year around, from the time she was 8 years old.  Her favorite poster that hung on her wall for years said, "If gymnastics were any easier, they'd call it football."    Needless to say, she and A.J. had some spirited debates!   ;) ;D

It's always good to have a full 10 games, with at least 5 at home.

I expect the championship banner will go up at the (Yo - ) Adrian game.  (Probably an over-worked reference for that school, but just possibly a first on the WIAC board)

Can't wait for Sept 4!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

For the curious:

Dakota State University is located in Madison, S.D. and are called Trojans.   They are affilated with the NAIA.   They play in the Dakota Athletic Conference and finished in seventh place last year with a 2-7 record which included a loss to Dickinson State.  Their leading rusher rushed for just under 400 yards and their quarterback threw for a little less than 1700 yards.  Both were freshmen.

Adrian, located in Adrian, Mich., is a DIII member of the the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  The Bulldogs were 6-4 last year and finished second in the conference (4-2).   The two leading rushers ran for 454 and 439 yards and the quarterback threw for 1939 yards.  All three return.

Congrats to the WIAC.  I think you should all move up to DII!

You are not giving others a chance to succeed and it is not fair.  Little Boys and Girls all over the DIII landscape are crying because they didn't get a trophy just for participating.

I know what you are saying is a joke. Here is a little sarcasm for your post. If all the other little boys and girls all ove d3 land are crying, maybe they should step their game up,and start become as good as the WIAC. End of sarcasm

I am sick of all the other d3 schools around the country except for Mt. Union saying WW and the Wiac should be d2 in football. Like I said maybe they shoul step up their game. The WIAC is good because they are competitive and  every week is a battle for the conference title. I don't think anyone would want it any other way. To me the WIAC is like the SEC best conference in the country for football at it's respectful level. Yes the SEC is better then the big ten in football

For the curious:

Campbellsville University was 3-8 last year beating Methodist, Morehead State and Valpariso. They have an enrollment of roughly 7000 students and are located in Buies Creek, N.C.   They call themselves the Fighting Camels, are a NCAA FCS (IAA) program playing in the Pioneer League (nonscholarship), and their field surface is astro turf.  They reinstated the football program in 2008.  As best I can tell it had been inactive since 1950.

I think you got the wrong one there. Actually they are in KY and appear to be an NAIA school.

You're right BG, I got the wrong one.  I'll edit my post.  Thanks for clearing it up.

Tigers sound much tougher than Fighting Camels.   ;)

Hi Chris,

Whenever you receive April's stale price verification from Akros send it my way again.

Thanks,

I would think the Adrian game would be considered a regional game, right? the past two years playing UPS didn't help us out much, regionally. Plus it appears Adrian has a stronger program, which is good.

Not that i'm complaining...just making conversation

Apart from Dickinson St., I notice North Dakota State plays Midland Lutheran right before they travel to Whitewater this season. Curious to see the results of that game, since we handled MLC last season with some ease  ;).

I was kidding.  MUC has been hearing that for the past 15 years.

Adrian and UWW will not be a regional game.

Not in the same sport region.
Not in the same administrative region.
Not within 200 miles of each other.
Not in the same conference.

I just read Voice's open letter to other DIII team's about not scheduling Whitewater.  I can understand the frustration but wasn't just about a year ago that Whitewater turned down UMHB on continuing their series?

I think I remember that the WIAC recently enacted a rule restricting athletic travel for regular season games to a certain radius?  It had to do with the down economy and shrinking state budgets.

Somebody must not have agreed with my open letter because it seems to have disapeared from the board.  I guess the NCAA disagreed with my assessment?? :'(
