Don't know if this has been reported on here yet but I was checking out the North Dakota State board and found what they thought was going to be one of their best incoming transfers has instead decided to go Oshkosh.
Former UW No.1 Recruit Tyler Westphal transfers to Oshkosh    Bucky profile

From the Bisonville message board:
QuoteFrom 4-star recruit to UW Oshkosh. Something tells me there must be some big issues here.

Could the reason NDSU cooled on him be because they realized his injury doesn't make him the same type of player he once was. I know UW was really high of him before his injury. Welcome to the WIAC and good luck regardless.

...if i'm not mistaken doesn't Mount kind of have the same thing running for them in Ohio? transfers for whatever the reasons may be from D-1 and other D-2 programs from the around the country?

Not too many.  I could probably count on my fingers the number of D-1/D-2 transfers that have come to Mount Union over the past 20 years that have made an impact.

Matt Campbell came from Pitt in the 90's and we had a CB who came from one of the Dakota D-2 schools who had a cup of coffee with the Detroit Lions, but not too many more.  Garcon was a DIII transfer and they currently have a QB who was a walk on at USF for a redshirt year.

In 2003 the Raiders had Larry Kinnard 6'6" 307 OL who came Mount via Ohio State and played against UWW 2002-3!

Welcome WarhawkDad, you have received several +K's, here is another. The good people from WIAC even allow a Raider to post here! :)

Hope your son does well for UWW, you can also cheer for the Raiders as a second team! ;D

We love having the Raider posters on here, 68, especially after you all became so much more agreeable the last several years!  Oh, what a difference a couple of championships make.   :) ;) ;D

The transfer rate year in and year out in tremendous me being a transfer from a D-2 minnesota school at one point proves it along with the other guys that are currently on the team.  i know a couple all-americans transferred in probably for different reasons than mine, but we still all came from minnesota D-2 programs from wisconsin being the home state......if i'm not mistaken doesn't Mount kind of have the same thing running for them in Ohio? transfers for whatever the reasons may be from D-1 and other D-2 programs from the around the country?

It seems like recently Mount hasn't had the big time transfer come from a D-1/11 school.  They are doing better competing on the original recruiting phase against such schools.  It is getting harder with the influx of D-11 schools in NE Ohio (Walsh/Malone/Great Lakes/Notre Dame College).

By the way, does Osh Kosh (or the WIAC) stream their games online?  I will not be making the trip, so I was hoping to catch it on the computer.

Yes, I believe Oshkosh (not 'Osh Kosh') streams their games live. I believe they usually have a link off the website here: http://www.titans.uwosh.edu/Football/Schedule.html

I could be wrong though...I'm usually listening on the radio.

They have video steaming, but it's hard to tell if the Mount game is included:

QuoteUW-Oshkosh's fall television and webcast schedule features six football games, including the Titans' Homecoming contest against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 17. Fans can also watch UW-Oshkosh play Huntingdon College (Ala.) on Sept. 19, Ohio Dominican University on Sept. 26, UW-River Falls on Oct. 10, UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 31 and UW-Stout on Nov. 14.

Upon futher review, The Titan football homepage has yet to update their tv schedule from last year - but using last years schedule as reference, and unless they have changed any progrmming, it would appear all home games are offered - last year $8.00 a game or the season package for $30.

WIAC football preview from WSN

I'm surprised it was posted here first, before the WIAC website.

                                                       2009 record
1.  UW-Whitewater (8)                          7-0, 15-0
2.  UW-Stevens Point                            6-1, 7-3
3.  UW-Stout                                         5-2, 8-2
4.  UW-Eau Claire                                  4-3, 6-4
5.  UW-La Crosse                                   2-5, 5-5
6.  UW-Oshkosh                                     2-5, 4-6
7.  UW-River Falls                                  1-6, 3-7
8.  UW-Platteville                                  1-6, 3-7

Just thinking out loud here, but it seems other conferences have the football coaches, those who actually should know the teams the best, pick in the pre-season beauty poll. Why would the sports information directors vote on it in the WIAC? I realize in the whole scheme of things it doesn't really matter, but I think the WIAC SID's wield too much influence!!  ;D  Shouldn't they be more concerned with keeping their webpages up-to-date?  ;)

Just Bill

Good Illinoisian story...

My in-laws own land on the Wisconsin River.  They arrived one morning and saw a tent pitched on the sandbar in the middle of the river.  Not unusual, except that the river was kind of high and fast, so most campers don't stay overnight on the sandbar when the river level is high.

They watched as two guys come out of the tent and immediately begin arguing and yelling at each other, but they are too far to understand what they are saying.  Eventually, one of the guys jumps into the river and immediately starts struggling in the current.  His buddy then jumps in after him and starts struggling too.

My father-in-law quickly shoves his canoe in the water and is fortunate to be far enough downstream where he can intercept these two panicking swimmers.  He puts his canoe in their path and they hang on until he can paddle them to shore.

When they arrive my mother-in-law says, "What did you think you were doing?" They guys says, "We had a canoe, but I guess we didn't pull it up high enough and it got washed downstream overnight."  The other guy adds, "And all the beer was in it too!"  The first guys says, I thought I'd swim across the river and walk back to the canoe rental place and ask for another one."

Finally my mother-in-law asks, "Where are you guys from?" "Chicago." She says, "That figures. We pull a couple of FISH out of this river every year."

The games aren't that boring are they? They tend to be close minus the one year the score 35-14 or whatever it was.  The people get tired of seeing it sometimes, but when it comes down to it the games are usually fairly close and evenly matched IMHO
