You post makes perfect sense now BoBo.  I'm not sure what I was thinking but for some reason it made me think of our two previous meetings with Mount Union.  Neither are among my favorite WARHAWK memories.  I'll try to keep up next time.  :D

Not when you compare these 5 games to the 5 previous to this or worse yet, the 5 previous to that, hard to compare the UWW/Mount "Five" with all those "yawners!!"  ;)

The time we played Mount in WHITEWATER (2003 I think) we stayed with them for a half.  But the second half was a different story.  They just blew us out.  They had a really good team that year particularly their quarterback.

bw, I think you misunderstood my point. I was referring to the previous 5 Stagg Bowls before before the 5 UWW & Mount have played --  and the 5 Stagg's previous to those. In those 10 years, there were not many highly competitive games, i.e. 48-7, 61-12, 42-13, 56-24, 36-7. IMHO, for all those that hate seeing the same two purple powers each of the last 5 years, these games as a collective group, maybe more competitive than any other 5 year period. I'm certainly not a Stagg Bowl historian, but check for yourself.

BoBo is correct, the prior 10 years before (Mount/UWW) 2005-9 were not as competitive. The Raiders did however win 6 titles during that stretch. :)

So that's a steady 60% over a 15 year period (considering Mount has also won three of the last 5). Let's hope that percentage drops a BIT the next 15 years!

Good points BP! +k History also shows that the Raiders usually win a title when they lost the previous year! :)  Who knows about 2010! :-\

I seem to remember two games in the last 10 years, a 10 - 7 Stagg Bowl (2000) decided on a last second field goal, and a 24 - 6 game )2003) that was probably closer than the score indicated. But then I have red tinted glasses.

How surprising...is that true?   ;)

What if you hit two out of ten decent shots on the golf course?  Would you be happy with that percentage?

Anyone have thoughts on the new Stout coach?  I am not too in-touch with the newest regime at my alma mater.

Clayt Birmingham is a former All Conference player at Point with a variety of coaching experience and has been the Stout D-Coordinator the past 3 years. Everyone I know in BlueDevil country feels real good about him taking over.

Having Duey Naatz as the new AD is a good thing as well. Nice to have a football guy at the top.

And Clayt has a helluva staff to work with.

As I was reading the article on warhawkfootball.com about media day, I couldn't help but notice the section about the kickers. It listed a freshman out of Lake Placid, NY -- and I thought, great someone who's probably experienced kicking in cold and white, fluffy stuff. But, then I realized, the young man is not from New York, but Lake Placid, Florida. We talked about him on here back in March.

HERE'S the article/picture from his local newspaper announcing his intention on attending UWW. Nice to see that he is in camp and competing for a roster spot.

Another thing about media day -- it mentioned another topic discussed was how former Wisconsin Badger running back, Booker Stanley, will be used. However, the article didn't disclose any information.  Anybody have any thoughts? I think a lot of people are interested in this.

Bobo, I think fullback would be a good position for Booker. He would be a legitimate running threat from that position and would take some attention away from Coppage and Anderson. Better yet, how about the wishbone with Booker, Coppage, and Anderson all in the backfield  ;D
