If UWW's offense is so potent, how many plays/quarters/halves/games will it be before they have a possible 4th down decision to kick FG/punt/go for it? If the first time the situation presents itself this year, LL elects to go for a first down, does that mean he doesn't have confidence in his kicker?  I don't think so. Every game is different -- every situation is different. It's like saying, after every TD, we will go for 2 because I don't think we have a kicker who can place the ball between the uprights. You don't go announcing that before the season actually begins. In the same way, you don't go out and say you're going to go for first downs on 4th downs, either, in advance.

I think you should go into the year thinking and saying you will kick (either FG or punt) when in that position, only because kickers (especially place kickers) are usually so fickle & can lose their confidence at the drop of a helmet. But in real time, take each situation as it comes -- and hopefully make the right choices.  ;)

Everyone knows that UWW's offense will be very good even with a new QB, but no one mentions the defense! Why is that, is it because it is equally great or is this the area of concern for the Warhawks? More holes to fill on defensive side of the ball, I suspect! :-\

Ah, DEFENSE.  My favorite side of the ball!!!  Well, one of the reasons the talk may have been limited is because one of us lost our inside source regarding the defense.  ;) :D ;D You know 68, offense always gets the headlines but...........................

Totally Agree! I watch the defensive stats more  than the offense, since in close games (as we all know) it is the defense that often makes the "big play" :)

With 6 starters lost on defense, including 3 in the secondary, there is no doubt that there are more holes to fill on that side of the ball. The linebackers are proven and should be excellent. There is a lot of talent in both the defensive line and the secondary groups. And several players got some good experience last year. But those (along with kicker) are the areas which would have to be considered less proven and in which guys need to step up.

Well, then there is BP's way of answering the question,  concise, intelligent, humble with facts and stats, and all.  It is one way to go, I suppose.   ;)    Nice job!

Must be fun to have another loaded team. I'll stick with my Blugolds, however, and then jump back on the U dub dub bandwagon come playoffs...  ;)

Do you have any words of wisdom on UWEC or LaX?

You should absolutely stick to the Bluegolds! Hey, every team is 0-0 right now and I doubt anyone is conceding anything to the Hawks. Like every year, whoever wins the WIAC will have to earn it.  And i would hope that we would all jump on the WIAC bandwagon come playoff time, whichever school is representing!

Sounds like he will be at LB. Now we got something to talk about with regard to the defense! Inside LB or outside LB? Need a replacement for Supianoski on the inside. Josh Williams played on the inside in limited action last year.

I think he was moved to LB at his previous school...which is what lead him to transfer. I think he'll still play RB at UWW (I assume)..but i could be wrong.

When the biggest off-season question mark is about your kicker, you know it's going to be a good season.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.
