There will be a pregame ceremony at Saturday's season opener vs. Adrian.

Also, a huge banner, similar to the one below the press box at the Perk, now adorns the entire wall overlooking the south end zone. It is impressive!

WIAC PREVIEW CAPSULE #7: UW-RIVER FALLS

www.uwwfootball.blogspot.com

Those capsules are great.  Many thanks!  Wouldn't you know I'd find just what I want on a WW blog!!
I don't suppose you are going to update them as the season wears on?? ;D

I am open to requests! I could try to do a weekly AROUND THE WIAC feature with at least a couple of notables for each team regarding their last game, their next game, or general "status of the team" thoughts.  If that is something that would fill a general void for WIAC fans or would widen the scope of the participation on the WIAC board, it would be a worthwhile venture!

Perhaps I should use a different blog for the WIAC stuff so ya'll don't have to get that sinking feeling of watching UW-W come out of the locker room every time you go to get info on conference teams!  ;D

I would love a feature like that, and I am sure many others would appreciate it.  Please consider it.  I'd read it wherever it was.....even if I did have to watch all those purple monsters bursting out of the locker room  :D...but I wonder how everybody else will know it is there??  But I am sure you know more about that stuff than I do.

I personally enjoy bleedpurple's perspective in previewing each team's season outlook. And I've shown my support with +k whenever I can. fanofwiac seems happy as a lark on the first day of spring reading these stories.  ;) But gee whiz fan, you said you hold rooting interests in 3 teams -- is there something preventing you from shouldering some of the load? Maybe it's time for you to pony up and enlighten us with the prospects of these teams. It's one thing to read a Warhawk guy's take on their season, but I would like to read what someone closer to these programs, a real fan of the team/school, thinks of their chances. Can we expect something?

I also said I'm a newbie to WIAC and I don't know anything.  Which is why I am as happy as a lark cause bleedpurple is increasing my knowledge 100 fold.  I got interested because I have lost my interest in HS fball as my kids/nephews/neighbors graduated and some people I know talked about WIAC and I thought I would check it out as I have a couple teams in my backyard.  Sounds like good ball.  So perhaps as I gain insight and get to a couple games I will volunteer.

Ok, totally understand -- I didn't realize your past history. Well, I hope you stick around and contribute the best you can. Maybe enter the WIAC pickem contest...that's a good way to get your feet wet!!  ;)

WIAC PREVIEW CAPSULE #8: UW-WHITEWATER

Thanks for your kind words, guys.  ;)

It costs $8, but you can watch UWW's opponent on 9/11, Dakota State University vs Midland Lutheran. Click HERE for details. Yes, it's the same Midland that the Hawks blasted last year.

I watched it, bp -- wish I had something better to do!!  ;)  I'd give them a break since it is the first game of the year, but, these are not strong teams...from what I witnessed, Dakota won't bring much more to the Perk than Midland did last year, unfortunately. Eight bucks for an NAIA game [shaking me head], that's really unfortunate!!  :-[  ::)

BTW, the final score was 38-7 Midland!!

Looking forward to attending a "Dakota Doubleheader" on 9/11....first Warhawks vs Dakota State then Northern Illinois vs North Dakota.
