BDB

Being in business for yourself is that way. Businesses fail many times at concept. Just a bad idea or under capitalized. If the concept of the business if solid, eventually the years of hard work pay off when the tread meets the road and the balance sheet begins to even out.

I think this business concept is a good one, and worth the labor of love the D-3 team is putting into it at this time. The payoff will show in various ways with the good product being available to good people, in this case, college educated higher earners I suspect.

 I just love newbie's!   ;) :-*

Seriously, Welcome Gentlemen.  It is always great having new blood on the boards even if you think it's organizational layout is lacking.   :)

Just thinking about that puts me in the Reminiscing mood.

Going through withdrawal with bye week!

Share your sentiments. However, with no game, I'm able to get the beauty sleep I never get when there is a game!! Not that I need the beauty sleep  :P, but sunday A.M. doesn't come so soon.  ;)
What does a Warhawk Dad plan on doing when there is no game?

You just get the opposite problem on other boards.  You get three or four different threads all having the same discussion, usually involving the same people, so nothing is in one location.  Pick your poison. I like this way better.

And, you are free to create new threads. Anyone can do it.  The only rule in the Terms and Conditions is you can't have a thread to talk just about one team.

Hmmm....I can't seem to create a new thread in this forum.  I wonder if something is wrong with my setup or if I'm just an idiot when it comes to computers.....

Go to the West Region page and there should be a button for "New Topic". If you don't see it, it might be that it's not visible until you reach X number of posts.

I've used Wissports for many years too. On Wissports, everytime Brett Favre blows his nose, there's instantly three threads in favor of it and five threads opposed to it. The setup is fine, but I don't see it as being remarkably superior to this one or any other.
Nicholas told me that this site inspired the Wissports site. He used this site as a template for his micro market.

*IN REPLY TO DII/DIII RECRUITING & UWRF FILMS

From reading a few pages pages back about the NSIC seemingly having more impact signing WI prospects, I think the growing popularity of recruiting sites and message boards also has had an impact (esspecially Wissports).  Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but my guess is prospects like having their name mentioned as being recruiting by scholarship able schools and eventually signing with such a school.

The WIAC is at a bit of a disadvantage, as I don't think they can comment on recruits until they're enrolled and and possibly not until they're actually attending school.  So a recruit can get press if they receive a scholarship from Upper Iowa or Concorida, but not get the same type of presse if they decide to pass on a scholie and attend Stout, a school that would probably beat 1/2 the schools in the NSIC.

It's my understanding DII signees get anywhere from 0 to $5,000 (1/2 ride---only a few get this much) in the 24 scholie limit NSIC. I wouldn't doubt the average schollie player gets $2,000-$2,500 a year.  If St. Cloud has a hypothetical $15,000 (tuition, room/board, etc) cost and UWL is let's say $12,000 (tuition, room/board, etc).  I'd be educating recruits a lot about costs being roughly a push.

danimal--though he would not tell you, Kestrel is responsible for the vintage films available at UWRF. He managed that project, as well as having been the one guy most responsible for notifying coaches of recruiting prospects at UWRF since about  1970. He is an unsung hero in UWRF football since the Farley days.

That's great!  Gotta love people like that behind the scenes.  Very important resource.

you're exactly correct...they can't count on football players until they enroll and attend classes...and hope they show up for football practice  ;)
