Technically, Tim works for the photographer group we contract out to provide us with images, but yes, we definitely know him and you did properly pick him out on the MIAC board moments ago.

Thanks Pat, I appreciate the quick follow-up.

P.S. the picture on Warhawk football with a view of the crowd....not of the Stout game. In the words of the MNF crew "COME ON MAN!!!" There wasn't any buddy on the other side, not what I saw on Saturday!

That fisheye photo is so lame, taken from within the crowd...could have been taken at any game with the sun out, IMO. Wasn't there a photographer on the other (east) side who would have a better picture of the entire west stands where basically everyone was watching? It seems like such a simple idea!! You got supposedly a record 12,000 folks in the stadium, but no one takes a decent picture of it? Doesn't make any sense. And secondly, on the UWW TV broadcast, they always seem to take crowd shots in most games (which is usually quite annoying enough), but this one, with all the people there, not a one. What gives? I saw much better pictures of the large crowd at SJU, and even when mentally putting them all together it doesn't look like 16,000, at least they posted a few pictures of it.

In the long run, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but just being peevish before going to see my orthopedist this morning.

Speaking of the "2 pt Conversion Chart", I checked 4 different websites (hardly exhaustive) and all 4 of them only went up to 20.  ;D

THIS ONE goes up to 30 points.

It's so complicated, that a coach like Bielema would have to call 2 consecutive time outs (and hope your opponent calls one too) just to have enough time to figure the blasted thing out...

...well, maybe not, I just did it.

Yes Bobo, but we all know you are of superior intellect and insight!  ;D

Oh, 'hawkDad - as unpleasant as it is for a humble person like myself reading such a lavish, undeserving, & if I could add unsolicited, tribute such as the one you directed at me, you leave me no choice but to give you only 30 more minutes to stop embarrassing me!!  ;)

Even though this is not a D3 question, there is a team from Ohio playing a team from Wisconsin on Saturday in a large stadium.  What do the WIAC faithful think is going to happen? :-\

I had to ask since it does not happen to often in Wisconsin, except when the OAC and WIAC have the insight and willingness to play one another!

First live game of the year at the Perk this Saturday...what an atmosphere!! After hanging out with the fellas and some of the coaching staff Saturday night, they were all very pleased with the win. I heard MULTIPLE times that they beat a very physical, tough, good football team on Saturday.  Stout IMO is easily the second best team in the WIAC.

Agreed, kind of lame not getting a great picture of the filled west side of the Stadium.  And it was so filled, Warhawk fans were on the hill behind the visitor stands and also on the hill on the west side as you enter the stadium.   People were everywhere.  Would have been nice to have a panoramic picture.

While I am kind of biased, not because I am from Wisconsin (from Illinois), because the QB for Wisconsin went to the same high school as my Warhawk son.  Tolzein's younger brother who is at Holy Cross was QB during my son's sophomore and junior years.  Great kids, great family.   For Wisconsin to have a good chance, Wisconsin's defense will have to slow down the Ohio State offense and the Wisconsin ball control running game will have to eat clock to keep the Ohio State offense off the field.

Hardship waiver:

III. Hardship Waiver (NCAA Bylaw 14.2.5)
A student-athlete may be granted an additional year of competition by the Conference or the NCAA Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement for reasons of "hardship." Hardship is defined as an incapacity resulting from an injury or illness that has occurred under ALL the following conditions:

(a) The injury or illness occurs before the completion of the first half of the traditional playing season in that sport for the season being waived (measured by the number of completed or scheduled (not exceeding the maximum limitations in each sport as set forth in NCAA Bylaw 17 as set prior to the first scheduled contest or date of competition) contests or dates of competition and results in incapacity to compete for the remainder of the traditional playing season;

AND

(b) The injury or illness occurs when the student-athlete has not competed in more than three contests or dates of competition (whichever is applicable to that sport) or one-third (whichever number is greater) of the institution's completed or scheduled (not exceeding the maximum limitations in each sport as set forth in NCAA Bylaw 17 as set prior to the first scheduled contest or date of competition) contests or dates of competition in his or her sport. Only competition (excluding preseason scrimmages and exhibition contests but including scrimmages and exhibitions after the first regularly scheduled contest) against outside participants during the traditional playing season, or, if so designated, during the official NCAA championship playing season in that sport (e.g., spring baseball, fall soccer), shall be countable under this limitation in calculating both the number of contests or dates of competition in which the student-athlete has competed and the number of completed or scheduled contests or dates of competition during that season in the sport.

I think that probably answers the question from earlier.  If I read it right, if you were injured this past week, in the 5th game, you are probably out of luck if you played in the earlier 4, because you would have competed in more than 1/3rd of the scheduled dates of competition.  Agreed?  Or do we need to seek outside legal counsel?   ;)

Raider, as for the game, I hope the team from Wisconsin does the unthinkable. I  hope both teams play a complete, competitive, 60 minute game. A game that doesn't give the Big Ten doubters more ammunition to poke fun at them on a national level. I hope Tolzien outplays Pryor to show, at least for this one, big game, that you don't have to have an all-universe reputation to compete and be successful. You can be under-recruited and still make an impact. Diligence & hard work can make you into a good ballplayer. Obviously, the Badgers play well against big teams at home, especially at night. Hopefully, they get all the parts working together, control the stupid turnovers that probably lost them the game last year, and really step it up on special teams. Plus, getting the crowd into it is important in a game like this. When Camp Randall is rocking, few places are like it.
