at least for this one, big game, that you don't have to have an all-universe reputation to compete and be successful. You can be under-recruited and still make an impact. Diligence & hard work can make you into a good ballplayer.

Bobo, could not agree with the lines above more.  While I would hope that it would send a message to schools and their recruiting teams, it probably will not.  They have their cookie cutters that kids have to fit into to be considered!  On the other hand, using that cookie cutter at the DI level is probably what allows good athletes to fall to places like UWW and UMU and others.  So, I guess I can not whine too much.

While waiting in line for water at the half, I talked to a guy with a camera wearing a Washington and Lee T-shirt. I thought he might be Ryan Coleman (who I've never seen a picture of). One would think that he, or someone took some pictures. There must be some out there, and will show up eventually.

Wisconsin doesn't seem to have a cookie cutter formula, must be highly ranked by Rivals, etc to recruit. I don't mind taking guys that other schools appear to discount in the long run. If the others were always right, how come the Badgers are able to compete with them so well? And how come they don't win national championships every year? Those ranking services are nice, but most of them are totally worthless and not an indication for future collegiate stars...IMO.

Thanks, voice...I just saw the picture - definitely shows the crowd much better. It is impressive.

How about on your blog site or Warhawkfootball.com and then post the link?

Great idea Warhawk Dad.  I'll have a good photo up on my site (Warhawkfootball.com) by 9:45

I have posted a photo of Saturday's packed Perkins Stadium.  I really gives you a view of a full stadium and where people actually watched the game from.

Check it out at:  http://www.warhawkfootball.com/newswire.asp

Interesting line from the UW-Platteville/ UW-Eau Claire play chart:

"B. Raciborski kickoff -24 yards to the UWEC6, Hank McIvor return -62 yards to the UWP32 (Sean Graham)."

Wish I could have seen THAT play!  ;D :D ;D

I suppose the play chart of today would look funny with THIS play, too!!

Congrats to this week's WIAC Players of the Week

Offense: Lee Vlasek (Platteville)  5 touchdowns to tie a school record after being moved to a new position is impressive.
Defense: Curtis Krump (Stevens Point) 15 tackles an interception and forced fumble
Special Teams: Kris Rosholt (WHITEWATER)  two 50 yard punts downed at the one yard line.

It's interesting to note that the WARHAWKS have the leading offense and defense in the league yet haven't had a player selected as the offensive or defensive player of the week.  It's all about team.

Rosholt has also been selected for this week's D3football.com Team of the Week.

I think last week was the first time the starters played the majority of the game....that could be another reason why.

I believe I've read on the OAC board that's one of the reasons why Mount doesn't even bother to nominate anyone for their awards. And maybe even the D3Football team of the week, too.

Speaking of the team of the week, Rosholt and Vlasek were part of that award, as well.
