Website is up and running!  UW-whitewater wins the coin toss and elects to receive!

Eau Claire won the toss and deferred.  If the WARHAWKS had won the toss they would have deferred to the second half.  Lance always, without fail, defers when we win the toss.

I had to miss the game today because of stupid bowling Saturday.  Many thanks to GBMan for the updates and texts.  I'll miss next week's game too.  Have to bring my youngest daughter home from North Carolina.  Another 20 hour trip driving a 7 ton U-Haul.  ugh

I must have heard wrong....my bad....

UWW v. EC.

Early turnovers really sucked the wind out of the Blugolds.  EC was unable to consistently get a push off tackle or contain defenders to the inside to allow backs to get to the corner, nor was EC able to stretch the field with verticle passes to help open up the running game.  It's hard to get a sense for how good EC's QB's and receivers are when there is so much pressure on the QB coming from the edges.  Either the QB(s) is getting blown up right after throwing the ball or he is getting flushed out of the pocket and having to make passes w/out setting his feet.

Defensively, UWW did a great job of getting on and staying on blocks and smothering backs in the flats.

fbfan413--02 Warhawk must have copied me then, bcuz if you'll look at the last post above the recent standings you'll see my  post:  4/4 correct. I hope Nate sees the post and doesn't wonder where it is. (Just kidding, 02). How the hell do I get the smiley to work? I'm a technical moron who has to type out the message.

Flash:  WIAC standings should reflect plus points for those teams not yet beaten by WW, a steadily dwindling number! (insert smiley here too)

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Fred,
If you click on the reply button rather than using the quick reply you'll get all the emoticons and then you just have to click on the one you want to use.

My bad, Fred.  It seems I didn't look close enough.  Good job!

"Quick reply"   ???  I didn't know there was any other way to post except to click on a "quote," button to reply to a specific post or the "reply" one.

Don't rub it in fbf413, the only game I got right was Whitewater. I think my chances of winning are down to about 0%. If I were a politician, I would concede and go into seclusion.  :'(
Oh, I hear ya, BoBo.  Winning? ???  I'm just after a respectable showing at this point.  Besides, your prediction of a defensive TD one minute before it happened will be remembered long after the 2010 WIAC Pick em's winner is decided!  (applause smiley inserted here) :-*

BTW, a BIG congrats to 02 Warhawk, the only player who had a clean sweep this week with his picks.  Nice job with a very tough week.

Ah, fbf413, is it eye exam time, maybe?  ...2 others ran the table this week - palum, the post right after 02 Warhawk, and oshfb!!  ;)

We should also mention that 02 Warhawk is running with the lead pack of big dogs in the ever-demanding & highly competitive OAC pick'em contest presented by HScoach - knocking on the top 10 door!!  ;)  '10 must be 02's year!!

My eyes ARE bad apparently AND I am an idiot!  When I posted the UW-O link this morning, I incorrectly thought I had picked them which means I missed that game as well! Hence, my inaccuracy about how everyone else did.

Just ignore me...............  :-[

It was my 22nd anniversary on Friday. Let me tell you this. Your obligations haven't even started.  ;D

Had some time last night because my bride was in the shower.  The B&B only had local TV - no ESPN or anything, so I had to do something to occupy my time.  Don't worry, all obligations taken care of.   8-)

Thanks for the well wishes.

I let my wife set our wedding date and she chose October 15 (1988). My brother incessantly chastised me about the date. UWM was incredibly bad then, so that didn't bother anyone. However, #2 Notre Dame beat #1 Miami, and later that night, Kirk Gibson hit his famous World Series Home Run.

Man, we've got a guy posting on his wedding night and another comparing an in-game (admittedly very impressive) prediction with his wedding day and day his child was born!

I'd say the fanaticism of Warhawk Nation may be reaching an all-time high!  ;D
Welcome to my world!   ;D

A big congrats to you KS.  That is wonderful.  But a true fanatic would never have set the date during football season to begin with.  My oldest son and daughter-in-law wanted a fall wedding a few years ago but realized that getting married during football season meant they might risk not having all the family in attendance.  We had a wonderful wedding in July.  ;D     Just kidding!    Well..............sort of. ;)

Hey, I was at a wedding October 15, 1988. I remember there was a tv in the bar. I remember ND ending Miami's "streak". I remember Gibson limping to the plate and taking Eckersly deep. I just can't remember whose wedding I attended!  :D

Maybe this makes up for my terrible pick em' scores of the previous 5 weeks  :-\

Nice to see the Titans get back into the 'W' column...although a much closer game than I had anticipated.

Nice to see Pirtle get some carries in WIAC game...doesn't look like he put up any amazing #s but at least he got his feet wet in the WIAC.

If St. Thomas and UWW win out... what are the chances Mount goes East, Whitewater goes North, Wesley goes South, and St. Thomas stays west?

Check out THIS wild play from high school player Joe Sobucki in Girard (Pa.). It's the first play on the clip. We've all seen the hook and ladder, but probably not like this. "We just call that the 'Oop-de-oop,''' Sobucki told the Times-News.
