Pat Coleman

I guess I would also note that they did go to their backup, but seeing as they had an experienced quarterback playing wideout (Shorts used to be the No. 2 and took reps at quarterback that preseason), they went to him. It was the national semifinals, after all. I don't think Matt Blanchard would have looked any better than Seaman in that situation and Seaman had had many meaningful snaps in September and October that led me to believe that he would step in this season and do just fine.

And seeing him play at Oshkosh, by the way, cemented that opinion.

I've come to learn that the top 25 poll don't mean anything, except that it makes good conversations in the message boards.

The only rankings that do matter are the Regional Rankings...those determine who gets ranked where in the playoffs (not the top 25 poll). And we still have a few weeks before those come out.

Really?  It took that long?  No disrespect to you, Pat or Mt. Union but I have just been surprised that the fact that UWW has won 2 of the last 3 National Championships and we returned 12 starters to the Raiders 9 wasn't enough to tilt the choice in our direction from the beginning of the season.  We didn't get the nod after the 07 Stagg win because we graduated so many starters.  Makes perfect sense, of course,
but why doesn't it work in reverse.  We win in 09 and return more starters.   ???   Don't want to sound arrogant or to be accused of whining that the Warhawk's don't get enough respect, just curious, I guess. There is still 2 voters out there who have yet to change their minds.   Maybe IF they win it 2 years in a row....................   ;) ;D

No one was looking at this as a lack of respect until you deny it 2x and explain it 1x. "No disrespect...BUT..."  ???

And I really don't see the argument that he is showing ANY disrespect to UWW by voting them #2 in the country!
Apparently you did............ ??? Just clearing up your inaccurate point that I had claimed that Pat was "disrespecting," the Hawks.  I said nothing of the kind.

Right on 02......polls are excellent conversation pieces and not much more......I admit I look at them but the regional rankings hold the importance......If you want to get worked up get worked up over them although both Pat and 413 make excellent points......Pound the Rock!!!!!.......

Just to "clear up YOUR innacurate point"....it was YOU who mentioned the respect word 2x and explained it 1x (all of course in the negative.) My mention of it was in response to YOU.... Just to be clear. :)

And just to be clear................it was YOU that pulled 6 words out of my post taking them completely out of context and claiming I meant something else.  I did actually write complete sentences afterall. I prefer MY post to be bolded as such:

Yes, actually. Now that I've seen both play I felt comfortable making the shift.

It must feel good to get off the schneid. Happy to oblige :)

I did quote your entire post. I have no dog in this fight. I am simply making the point that for someone who doesn't want to appear to be disrespectfull you sure spend a lot of time explaining what appears to be a lack of respect. That's how it came off to me. But I'm just 1 poster.

Well, Pat made it clear that he did NOT perceive my posts as showing a, "lack of respect," so that is all that matters to me.   Frankly, I am still scratching my head that you do but hey, seems we will just agree to disagree.

Hey BoBo:

If UWEC's porous defense had given up 34 points to SJU, like the Johnnies are averaging so far, instead of 20,

and 30.5 to UWSP, instead of the 13 they gave up to the Pointers, they would be be 1-5 right now....

I don't think it was the Blugold offense that was on the field holding those two teams to below what they have been averaging so far this year....
