Looks like the UW-P vs UW-Osh is going to be a tight game.  Does Coppage get pulled before halftime??

kind of wish he doesn't play. sounds like it's going to be a rainy day. we don't need any injuries on that wet grass.

...And you can stop in and visit, and play a little golf in the Lake Geneva area too, cru.

Let me stick up for my "pal" BoBo in his back and forth with bulk.

I am a Washington Capital fan, and if I only watched the last two games with the Bruins, I would come away with a far different impression than what I actually have from watching around 75 of their games. Give it up. I don't really think you disagree. You're arguing a point which BoBo never tried to make. So much for my Peacekeeping efforts.

OK peacemaker. Tell me the point BoBo was making? He says the defense was the worst he's seen in a long time...

Again, since he won't admit that my timeline on this matter's postings is correct, and, since you understand his point, tell me this = after UWW's win against the Blugolds on Saturday, why he made two comments about the UWEC D's against North Central? He pretty much made a smart-ass comment in one of them, and gave us his statistical analysis for a game he didn't see... You tell me the point he was making, since you understand it...

And I then responded, by pointing out that the D played pretty well in two other games. So BoBo, having trashed the team's/D's efforts against North Central (for why and or whatever his point was?), goes and
says he was merely forming his opinion based on one game...

And after I replied and provided my two examples, to counter his two, he claims I was the one who added other games to the mix?

You guys are too funny.

Wow guys, I just found these discussion boards. This is pretty cool. I played guard for the Warhawks from 1991 to 1995 and started a few years alongside Dave Lang, our RT that made All-American.... Running backs were Travis Talton and Spenser Johnson.

It is really nice to see the alma mater doing so well. Seeing them in person is strange. They are no bigger or faster than what we had, yet they play better. I had always heard about the Mt. Union beast from the East, now actually beating them is truly an accomplishment.

Nice to meet ya guys!

Just figured out who you are  TP,  and here's a hint to who I am... you lived 2 town homes down from me on Hamony dr. at UWW.

Hey, my prediction is only 4 points off from BP's!  ;D

Almost absolutely correct - almost...I said the EC defense from the UWW game last saturday was the softest defense I've seen out of a WIAC school in a long time. If you're going to paraphrase me, don't go changing my words - I said soft, big difference...

What's all the nonsense about a timeline? There is no timeline...you're trying to link 2 completely different topics into one. If retagent can see that, I would think a guy as...oh forget it!!  ;)  Listen, read the comment again that seems to have you all worked up - Reply #21840 - first one on the page. I bet after reading it again, you're feeling rather silly. I know, everyone has bad days. To explain, ILGator was saying, and a lot of this goes back to the CCIW board discussion before and after the EC game, that NCC struggled to a narrow victory over EC because their offensive had evolved into a more running offense from a heavy passing one in previous years and that they lined up 4 QB during the EC game. I pointed out from the box score in some detail that NCC only lined up 1 QB who threw any passes vs EC, not the 4 he had said - read it for yourself. The only comment I made about the EC defense was exactly the one I made earlier, that the EC defense against UWW was soft:
QuoteAs I have mentioned a few times the past couple days, at least vs UWW last saturday, that was about as soft of a defense as I can ever remember a WIAC school fielding.

Man, this is like a class in remedial English comprehension. Where else in there is there anything remotely negative about EC? It's actually about as positive as possible:
QuoteI guess I'm having a hard time wondering why NCC wasn't able to put up more points on the Blugolds than they were against upper to middle of the road CCIW teams. Doesn't seem like settling on one QB has had that much of a scoring impact. Maybe EC is, at the end of the day, the best team NCC has played so far?

If saying EC's defense [IMHO] against UWW was the softest I've seen in a long time is a smart-ass comment to you, then so be it. Grow some skin. As I pointed out in a different post, at least 2 other posters made similar post about EC's performance. Why not start whining over those too? You keep this up bulk, and you're going to be in running for the Dead Horse Award for 2010!!  ;)

It depends on his health. If he is fine, it will depend on the score.  If UW-W is in full control, then I would guess he would play the first half and then sit.  But anything less than a 4 TD lead, and I would think Coppage will keep playing.  I would imagine AA will get a couple of series in the first half as well.

What I really think is that UW-P and UW-O will be high scoring. They both have excellent QB's, who can both run and pass, and decent balance. They are also the two lowest ranked pass defenses in the conference. If there were odds on such things, I would think UW-O would be favored, especially at home.  I'm picking the upset based mostly on the confidence they have gained after going 2-0 since moving Vlasik to running back.

OK, without getting into the exhausting Bulk-BoBo Battle Royale, I'll bite on this (And just to be clear I don't doubt you have an answer):

Just what is the big difference between a bad defense and a soft defense??

No kidding! This was my favorite:

"Expect 0.03 inches of rain by the end of this morning. " I'm not even sure HOW to expect three one hundredths of an inch of rain!  ;D ;D

But I see the forecast has now bumped up the projection to over 1/5 of an inch of rain by noon, now...

Damn, I was hoping bulk would've ask me that!!   ;D    Anyway...

Well bp, the difference is about a hundred more total yards and 3 more TD's - which I might add, would've happened last saturday had UWW had a coach like that guy at Lindenwood.

From the Titan's football page regarding this weekends Homecoming game versus Platteville:

Thanks to a sponsorship by the UW-Oshkosh Alumni Association, the Titans' football contest against UW-Platteville will be available to viewers on the Internet at no charge. The live webcast is a collaboration between UW-Oshkosh athletics, Titan TV 66 and Stretch Internet. The webcast begins at 2 p.m. on the Web site address of http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/uwosh.portal#.

Thanks oshfb, that might be a fun one to watch.

Anybody know if UW-RF's plans on streaming video? Can't seem to find a link on theirs or the WIAC website. They had a free stream for the Trine game.

Who's got the "Beating the Dead Horse" icon?

I think BoBo did a better job in his own defense than would I. The only thing I took from his original post was that he was making an observation about ONE GAME he had seen. He was not trying to base a conclusion about UWEC's defense, as a whole, on that one game. You, bulk, are arguing that UWEC's defense is not that bad if you look at it over the entire sesaon. That was not BoBo's argument.

One game vs The Entire Season.  Know it, Live it, love it.\\

And by the way, aren't "Smart A$$" comments what make this board, and the world interesting? Cut them out of my discussions, and I'm pretty much muted. (Left a big matzo out there with that one, didn't I?)
