Backtrack about 20 pages but I think Linfield fans know that UW-Whitewater has played a good number of away games on this run. (Especially compared to Mount Union, which has played zero this millennium.)

Ya...they played a big game at the CatDome....heck of a game but I didn't like the outcome.....  

Oh...and I forgot they played a huge game at Willamette when Willamette had a fantastic team. I saw that game and met a few of the Whitewater fans who had made it out....

Back atcha, Blue.  Was nice meeting you and the TuxDude.  But shouldn't you be over on the MIAC board tweaking the lutefisk'ers instead of in cheeseland?

It beat out the Stone Station (or whatever they call that tailgate the Bridgewater fans put on at the Stagg Bowl)?   That's an incredible spread.

You are the "resident" UWW expert, and from SO FAR away.  How about letting us posters know a little bit about the who/what/how you ended up "way over there".  I think it would be interesting, and informative reading for those of us that are blessed with your intelligent insight (even if you are a UWW honk).  

Pleez...sidekick, you think sucking up to me with that "resident" UWW expert BS will get you answers?    First of all, I'm not even peddling in the peloton of leading UWW experts. That tag goes to any one of a number of other posters on here. I'm just along for a leisurely ride.

Congrats to the Warhawks for doing what they had to do and moving on to face Trine.  UWW has a great team!  Congrats to the Grizzlies on a fine season and for playing hard at UWW.  It was a shame that we had to meet in the first round.  Now you can see why d3football.com voted the Franklin tailgate the "Best D3 Tailgate in the Nation"!  
A regular season game would benefit both schools but would be tough for the Grizzlies since they have already scheduled Mt. Union for a home & home.  

Trine is very similar to Franklin.  The Thunder edged Franklin at Trine in 2008 and the Grizzlies returned the favor at home in 2009 (Trine's last regular season loss).  Watt and Ray are similar QBs.  Ray is a more accurate passer but Watt is a more dangerous runner.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of talent that this Franklin team had up front. I look forward to hopefully playing you guys in non-conference competition in the future. It will be a great test for both of our programs.

GRIZ...You are correct.  You guys had a great tailgate going on.  I think I saw a 80 foot table full of food and booze!  I also saw a huge smoker and lots of fun tailgate activities.  This week we a pretty weak showing by UWW fans...I guess opening season of Deer Hunting was more important than the first round.  haha.

Thanks, GHC, and the best of luck to your Cats.  Hope they enjoy their trip to the blustery midwest and come away with a big win. First and foremost, because the Cats and their wonderful fans won my heart in 05 but also because I would just love for one of the 4 best teams in the country, according to the wise selection committee, to go out in the second round!

btw, BoBo and family are safe and sound...you might've heard about the afternoon (Korea time) artillery fired courtesy the DPRK at the South Korean island in the Yellow Sea (or West Sea as it is called in Korea). It was a couple hundred KM to our west; a few ROK Marines dead and a small number injured, along with a couple civilians. Kim Jong-il seems to be looking for a little attention. These kinds of actions from the north have become so commonplace, that while we were out at dinner tonight, the TV in the restaurant was showing non-stop coverage, but no one paying close attention to it. Go figure...
